Apocalypse 4

Dans le ciel, tous chantent la gloire de Dieu

1 Après cela, je vois encore autre chose.
Dans le ciel, une porte est ouverte. J’avais déjà entendu une voix puissante, comme le son d’une trompette. Cette même voix me dit : « Monte ici, et je vais te montrer ce qui doit arriver ensuite. »
2 Aussitôt, l’Esprit Saint me saisit, et je vois le siège d’un roi installé dans le ciel. Quelqu’un est assis sur ce siège. 3 Celui qui est assis brille comme des pierres précieuses vertes et rouges. Un cercle brillant entoure le siège, sa lumière est verte comme celle d’une pierre précieuse. 4 Autour du siège royal, il y a 24 sièges. Sur ces sièges, 24 anciens sont assis. Ils ont des vêtements blancs. Sur la tête, ils portent une couronne d’or. 5 Des éclairs, des bruits et des coups de tonnerre partent du siège de roi, et devant ce siège, sept lampes allumées brûlent. Ce sont les sept esprits de Dieu.

6 Devant le siège de roi, il y a comme une mer aussi transparente que du verre.
Au milieu, autour de ce siège, il y a quatre êtres vivants qui sont couverts d’yeux devant et derrière. 7 Le premier être vivant ressemble à un lion, le deuxième à un jeune taureau. Le troisième a un visage semblable à celui d’un être humain, le quatrième ressemble à un aigle qui vole.

8 Les quatre êtres vivants ont chacun six ailes. Ils ont des yeux partout, sur les ailes et sous les ailes. Jour et nuit, ils chantent sans cesse :
« Saint, Saint, Saint,
le Seigneur, le Dieu tout-puissant,
celui qui est, qui était et qui vient ! »
9 Ils chantent la gloire de celui qui est assis sur le siège royal, de celui qui est vivant pour toujours. Ils l’honorent et le remercient.

10 Et chaque fois que les êtres vivants chantent, les 24 anciens tombent à genoux devant celui qui est assis sur le siège. Ils adorent celui qui est vivant pour toujours. Ils jettent leurs couronnes devant le siège en disant :

11 « Seigneur notre Dieu,
tu es digne de recevoir
la gloire, l’honneur et la puissance.
C’est toi qui as créé toutes choses,
tu as voulu qu’elles existent,
et elles ont été créées. »

REVELATION 4

Worship in Heaven

1 After this, I looked and saw a door that opened into heaven. Then the voice that had spoken to me at first and that sounded like a trumpet said, “Come up here! I will show you what must happen next.” 2 t Right then the Spirit took control of me, and there in heaven I saw a throne and someone sitting on it.

3 The one who was sitting there sparkled like precious stones of jaspert and carnelian.t A rainbow that looked like an emeraldt surrounded the throne.
4 Twenty-four other thrones were in a circle around that throne. And on each of these thrones there was an elder dressed in white clothes and wearing a gold crown. 5 t Flashes of lightning and roars of thunder came out from the throne in the center of the circle. Seven torches, which are the seven spirits of God, were burning in front of the throne.

6 t t Also in front of the throne was something that looked like a glass sea, clear as crystal.
Around the throne in the center were four living creatures covered front and back with eyes. 7 The first creature was like a lion, the second one was like a bull, the third one had the face of a human, and the fourth was like a flying eagle.

8 t Each of the four living creatures had six wings, and their bodies were covered with eyes. Day and night they never stopped singing,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord,
the all-powerful God,
who was and is
and is coming!”
9 The living creatures kept praising, honoring, and thanking the one who sits on the throne and who lives forever and ever.

10 At the same time the 24 elders knelt down before the one sitting on the throne. And as they worshiped the one who lives forever, they placed their crowns in front of the throne and said,

11  t “Our Lord and God,
you are worthy
to receive glory,
honor, and power.
You created all things,
and by your decision they are
and were created.”
