Den himmelska gudstjänsten

1 Sedan såg jag, och se, en dörr stod öppen till himlen, och den första rösten, som jag hade hört tala till mig som en basun, sade: ”Kom hit upp, så skall jag visa dig vad som skall ske härefter.” 2 Och strax kom jag i hänryckning, och se, en tron stod i himlen och någon satt på tronen, 3 och han som satt där syntes mig lik jaspis och karneol, och kring tronen var en regnbåge som var som smaragd. 4 Och runt om tronen såg jag tjugofyra troner, och på tronerna satt tjugofyra äldste, klädda i vita kläder och med kransar av guld på huvudet. 5 Från tronen kom det blixtar och dån och åska, och sju facklor brann framför tronen, det är Guds sju andar,

6 och framför tronen låg liksom ett hav av glas, som av kristall.
Mitt för tronen och runt om tronen var fyra varelser som hade fullt med ögon, både framtill och baktill. 7 Den första varelsen liknade ett lejon, den andra en ungtjur, den tredje hade ett ansikte som en människa, och den fjärde liknade en flygande örn.

8 De fyra varelserna hade vardera sex vingar, och de hade fullt med ögon, utåt och inåt. Utan att vila säger de dag och natt:
Helig, helig, helig
är Herren Gud, allhärskaren,
han som var och som är och som kommer.
9 Och när dessa varelser hyllar och ärar och tackar honom som sitter på tronen och som lever i evigheters evighet,

10 då skall de tjugofyra äldste falla ner inför honom som sitter på tronen och tillbe honom som lever i evigheters evighet och lägga sina kransar framför tronen och säga:

11 Du, vår Herre och Gud, är värdig
att ta emot härligheten och äran och makten.
Ty du har skapat världen,
och genom din vilja blev den till och skapades den.

REVELATION 4

Worship in Heaven

1 After this, I looked and saw a door that opened into heaven. Then the voice that had spoken to me at first and that sounded like a trumpet said, “Come up here! I will show you what must happen next.” 2 t Right then the Spirit took control of me, and there in heaven I saw a throne and someone sitting on it.

3 The one who was sitting there sparkled like precious stones of jaspert and carnelian.t A rainbow that looked like an emeraldt surrounded the throne.
4 Twenty-four other thrones were in a circle around that throne. And on each of these thrones there was an elder dressed in white clothes and wearing a gold crown. 5 t Flashes of lightning and roars of thunder came out from the throne in the center of the circle. Seven torches, which are the seven spirits of God, were burning in front of the throne.

6 t t Also in front of the throne was something that looked like a glass sea, clear as crystal.
Around the throne in the center were four living creatures covered front and back with eyes. 7 The first creature was like a lion, the second one was like a bull, the third one had the face of a human, and the fourth was like a flying eagle.

8 t Each of the four living creatures had six wings, and their bodies were covered with eyes. Day and night they never stopped singing,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord,
the all-powerful God,
who was and is
and is coming!”
9 The living creatures kept praising, honoring, and thanking the one who sits on the throne and who lives forever and ever.

10 At the same time the 24 elders knelt down before the one sitting on the throne. And as they worshiped the one who lives forever, they placed their crowns in front of the throne and said,

11  t “Our Lord and God,
you are worthy
to receive glory,
honor, and power.
You created all things,
and by your decision they are
and were created.”
