رومیان 1
1 از طرف پولس بندهٔ عیسی مسیح و رسولی كه خدا برای بشارت انجیل برگزیده و فراخوانده است.
2 خدا انجیل را مدّتها پیش به وسیلهٔ انبیای خود در کتابمقدّس وعده داد. 3 این انجیل دربارهٔ پسر او، خداوند ما عیسی مسیح است كه از لحاظ انسانیّت یكی از فرزندان داوود بود 4 و با زنده شدنش پس از مرگ با قدرتی عظیم ثابت نمود که از لحاظ قدّوسیّت خدایی، او پسر خداست. 5 خدا به وسیلهٔ مسیح به ما فیض عطا فرمود تا رسولان او باشیم و همهٔ ملّتها را به ایمان و اطاعت مسیح هدایت كنیم.
6 این همچنین شامل حال شما رومیان است كه خدا شما را دعوت فرموده تا از آن عیسی مسیح شوید.
7 من این نامه را به همهٔ شما محبوبان خدا در روم كه خوانده شدهاید تا مقدّس باشید، مینویسم. فیض و آرامش پدر ما خدا و عیسی مسیح خداوند با شما باد.دعای شكرگزاری
8 قبل از هر چیز خدای خود را به وساطت عیسی مسیح برای همهٔ شما شكر میکنم، زیرا ایمان شما در تمام دنیا شهرت یافته است. 9 خدا، آن خدایی كه او را با اعلام انجیل دربارهٔ پسرش از دل و جان خدمت مینمایم شاهد است 10 كه همیشه در وقت دعا شما را بهیاد میآورم و درخواست میکنم كه در صورت امكان اگر خدا بخواهد بالاخره به دیدن شما موفّق شوم 11 زیرا بسیار آرزومندم كه شما را ببینم تا از بركتی روحانی شما را بهرهمند ساخته، تقویت نمایم.
12 مقصودم آن است كه به وسیلهٔ ایمان دو جانبه پشتیبان یکدیگر باشیم، شما به وسیلهٔ ایمان من و من به وسیلهٔ ایمان شما.
13 ای برادرانt من، نمیخواهم بیخبر باشید كه بارها قصد داشتم نزد شما بیایم امّا همیشه چیزی مرا از انجام آن بازداشته است. من خواستهام همان طوری که در میان ملّتهای دیگر ثمری یافتم، در میان شما نیز بیابم. 14 زیرا من در مقابل همه -از متمدنین گرفته تا وحشیان، از روشنفكران گرفته تا نادانان- دِینی به گردن دارم.
15 بنابراین اشتیاق دارم كه به قدر توانایی خود، انجیل را به شما نیز كه در روم به سر میبرید اعلام نمایم.قدرت انجیل
16 زیرا من از انجیل خِجِل نیستم؛ از آن رو كه انجیل، قدرت خداست برای نجات هرکس كه به آن ایمان آورد، اول یهودیان و سپس غیر یهودیان.
17 زیرا انجیل نشان میدهد كه خدا چگونه آدمیان را کاملاً نیک میشمارد و این پایهٔ ایمان و بر ایمان بنا شده است، چنانکه کتابمقدّس میفرماید: «شخص نیكو به وسیلهٔ ایمان زندگی خواهد کرد.»گناه بشر
18 غضب خدا از آسمان بر هرگونه گناه و شرارت مردمی نازل میشود كه زندگی شرارتآمیزشان مانع شناسایی حقیقت است. 19 خدا آنان را مجازات میکند و این كار برحق است، زیرا آنچه آدمیان دربارهٔ خدا میتوانند بدانند، بر آنها آشكار است زیرا خدا آن را در پیش چشمان آنان قرار داده است. 20 از زمان آفرینش دنیا صفات نادیدنی او یعنی قدرت ازلی و الوهیّت او در چیزهایی كه او آفریده است، به روشنی مشاهده میشود و از این رو آنها ابداً عذری ندارند. 21 اگرچه آنها خدا را شناختند ولی آنطوریکه شایستهٔ اوست از او تكریم و تشكّر نكردند. در عوض افكارشان کاملاً پوچ گشته و عقل ناقص آنها تیره شده است. 22 درحالیکه ادّعای حكمت میکنند نشان میدهند كه نادان هستند.
23 آنها جلال خدای جاودان را به بُتهایی شبیه انسان فانی و پرندگان و چارپایان و خزندگان تبدیل كردند.
24 به این جهت خدا ایشان را با شهوات و هوسهای خودشان در ناپاكی واگذاشت كه با یكدیگر بدنهای خود را ننگین سازند.
25 آنان حقیقت خدا را به دروغ تبدیل كردند و آفریدههای خدا را به عوض خود آفریدگار پرستیدند، آفریدگاری كه تا ابد شایستهٔ ستایش است.
26 لذا خدا آدمیان را تسلیم شهوات ننگین خودشان كرده است. حتّی زنها روابط طبیعی جنسی را به آنچه غیر طبیعی است تبدیل كردند.
27 به همان طریق مردان روابط جنسی طبیعی را با زنها ترک نمودند و در آتش شهوت برای همجنسان خود سوختند. مردان مرتكب کارهای زشت و ننگین با مردان دیگر شدند و در وجود خودشان مجازاتی كه درخور چنین خلافكاری است، دیدند.
28 چون آنها خداشناسی را امری ناچیز شمردند، خدا آنها را تسلیم افكار فاسدشان نمود تا کارهای زشت و ناشایست بجا آورند. 29 آنها از انواع شرارت و بدی و طمع و بدخواهی و همچنین از حسادت و آدمكشی و نزاع و فریبكاری و سوءنیّت پُر هستند. آنها شایعه میسازند 30 و از یكدیگر بدگویی میکنند، از خدا نفرت دارند، گستاخ و متکبّر و لافزن و سازندهٔ بدیها هستند و از والدین خود سرپیچی میکنند. 31 بیفهم و بیوفا و بیعاطفه و بیرحمند. 32 و با وجود اینكه فرمان خدا را میدانند كه مجریان چنین كارها مستوجب مرگند ولی نه فقط خودشان این كارها را میکنند بلكه دیگران را نیز در انجام آنها تشویق میکنند.
ROMANS 1
1 From Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus.
God chose me to be an apostle, and he appointed me to preach the good news 2 that he promised long ago by what his prophets said in the holy Scriptures.
3-4 This good news is about his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ! As a human, he was from the family of David. But the Holy Spiritt proved that Jesus is the powerful Son of God, t because he was raised from death.
5 Jesus was kind to me and chose me to be an apostle, t so that people of all nations would obey and have faith.
6 You are some of those people chosen by Jesus Christ.
7 This letter is to all of you in Rome. God loves you and has chosen you to be his very own people.
I pray that God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless you with peace!A Prayer of Thanks
8 First, I thank God in the name of Jesus Christ for all of you. I do this because people everywhere in the world are talking about your faith.
9 God has seen how I never stop praying for you, while I serve him with all my heart and tell the good news about his Son.
10 In all my prayers, I ask God to make it possible for me to visit you. 11 I want to see you and share with you the same blessings that God's Spirit has given me. Then you will grow stronger in your faith.
12 What I am saying is that we can encourage each other by the faith that is ours.
13 t My friends, I want you to know that I have often planned to come for a visit. But something has always kept me from doing it. I want to win followers to Christ in Rome, as I have done in many other places.
14-15 It doesn't matter if people are civilized and educated, or if they are uncivilized and uneducated. I must tell the good news to everyone. That's why I am eager to visit all of you in Rome.The Power //of the Good News
16 t I am proud of the good news! It is God's powerful way of saving all people who have faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.
17 t The good news tells how God accepts everyone who has faith, but only those who have faith.t It is just as the Scriptures say, “The people God accepts because of their faith will live.”tEveryone Is Guilty
18 From heaven God shows how angry he is with all the wicked and evil things that sinful people do to crush the truth. 19 They know everything that can be known about God, because God has shown it all to them. 20 t God's eternal power and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these are like by all he has made. That's why those people don't have any excuse. 21 t They know about God, but they don't honor him or even thank him. Their thoughts are useless, and their stupid minds are in the dark. 22 They claim to be wise, but they are fools.
23 t They don't worship the glorious and eternal God. Instead, they worship idols that are made to look like humans who cannot live forever, and like birds, animals, and reptiles.
24 So God let these people go their own way. They did what they wanted to do, and their filthy thoughts made them do shameful things with their bodies.
25 They gave up the truth about God for a lie, and they worshiped God's creation instead of God, who will be praised forever. Amen.
26 God let them follow their own evil desires. Women no longer wanted to have sex in a natural way, and they did things with each other that were not natural.
27 Men behaved in the same way. They stopped wanting to have sex with women and had strong desires for sex with other men. They did shameful things with each other, and what has happened to them is punishment for their foolish deeds.
28 t Since these people refused even to think about God, he let their useless minds rule over them. That's why they do all sorts of indecent things. 29 They are evil, wicked, and greedy, as well as mean in every possible way. They want what others have, and they murder, argue, cheat, and are hard to get along with. They gossip,
30 say cruel things about others, and hate God. They are proud, conceited, and boastful, always thinking up new ways to do evil.
These people don't respect their parents. 31 They are stupid, unreliable, and don't have any love or pity for others. 32 They know God has said that anyone who acts this way deserves to die. But they keep on doing evil things, and they even encourage others to do them.
