ローマ人への手紙 10

一○

1 愛する皆さん。　私が心から願い、祈り求めているのは、ユダヤ人が救われることです。　2 私は、彼らが神様の誉れをどんなに熱心に求めているか、よく知っています。　しかし、それは見当違いの熱心なのです。　3 というのも、彼らには、キリスト様が自分たちを神様の前に正しい者とするために死んでくださったことが、わかっていないからです。　そして、ユダヤ教のおきてや習慣を守ることによって、神様の祝福をいただける善良な人間になろうと、努力を重ねています。　しかし、神様はそんな方法でお救いになるのではありません。　4 彼らが、おきてを守ることによって手に入れようとしているものすべてを、キリスト様は、ご自分を信じる人々に与えてくださいます。　そのことを、彼らは悟っていないのです。　キリスト様は、おきてをすべて終結させたのです。
5 モーセは、「もし人が、非の打ちどころなく善良であり、一生涯、誘惑にも負けず、ただの一度も罪を犯さずにいられるなら、その時はじめて救われる」と書いています。　6 しかし、信仰を通して与えられる救いは、こう教えてくれます。　「あなたは、キリスト様を見つけようと天を捜し回る必要も、助けていただこうと引き降ろす必要もない。」　7 また、「キリスト様をもう一度復活させようと、死人の中を歩き回る必要もない。」
8 というのは、キリスト様を信じることによって与えられる救い〔私たちが宣べ伝えているのは、まさしくこの救いです〕は、すでに、私たちのすぐ手の届く所にあるからです。　実際それは、自分の心や口のように、すぐ近くにあるのです。　9 なぜなら、もし自分の口で「イエス・キリストは私の主です」と告白し、自分の心で、神様はイエス・キリストを死人の中から復活させてくださったと信じるなら、あなたは救われるからです。　10 人は、心で信じることによって、神様から正しい者とされ、その信仰を自分の口で告白することによって、救いを確実なものとするからです。　11 聖書は私たちに、「キリスト様を信じる者は、決して失望させられることがない」と教えています。　12 この点では、ユダヤ人もそれ以外の外国人も同じです。　同じ主がユダヤ人にとっても外国人にとっても主であり、求める者にはだれにでも、ご自分の宝を惜しみなく与えてくださるのです。　13 主の御名を呼び求める者は、だれでも救われるのです。
14 しかし、主を信じていなければ、どうして主に、「救ってください」と求めるでしょうか。　また、主のことを一度も聞いたことがなければ、どうして主を信じることができるでしょうか。　だれかが教えてくれなければ、どうして主のことを聞けるでしょうか。　15 また、だれかが遣わさなければ、どうして人々のところへ出かけて教える人が出るでしょうか。　旧約聖書に、「神との平和を宣べ伝え、良い知らせをもたらす人の足は、なんとうるわしいことか」とあるのは、まさにこのことです。　つまり、神様の良い知らせを伝える人は、なんと歓迎されることか、というのです。
16 しかし、この良い知らせを耳にした人がみな、喜んで受け入れたわけではありません。　預言者イザヤが、「主よ。　彼らに語った時、だれが、私のことばを信じましたか」と言っているとおりです。17 しかし、信仰は、このキリスト様の良い知らせに耳を傾けることから、始まるのです。
18 しかし、ユダヤ人についてはどうでしょうか。　彼らは神様のことばを聞いたのでしょうか。　もちろんです。　神様のことばは、彼らをどこまでも追いかけ、良い知らせは地の果てまでも告げ知らされたのですから。　19 さらに、ユダヤ人は、もし自分たちが神様の救いを拒むなら、その救いはほかの人々に与えられることを、知っていたのでしょうか。　もちろん、知っていました。　というのは、その昔、モーセの時代に、すでに神様はこう告げておられたからです。
「わたしは、無知な異教の諸国民に
救いを与えることで、
わたしの民にねたみを起こさせ、
その目を覚まさせよう。」
20 後に、イザヤも大胆にこう言っています。
「捜し求めもしなかった人々によって
神様は見いだされる。」
21 その一方、神様はユダヤ人にも、引き続き御手を差し伸べておられるのですが、彼らは何やかやと理屈をこねて、神様のもとに行こうとしないのです。

Romans 10

1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and my supplication to God is for them, that they may be saved.2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.3 For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.4 For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believeth.5 For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby.6 But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:)7 or, Who shall descend into the abyss? (That is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?15 and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!16 But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?17 So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.18 But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world.

19 But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding will I anger you.

20 And Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.

21 But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
