1 ای برادرانt من، آرزوی قلبی و استدعای من از درگاه خدا برای اسرائیل این است كه ایشان نجات یابند. 2 من میتوانم شهادت بدهم كه آنها نسبت به خدا متعصّبند امّا تعصّب آنان از روی آگاهی نیست. 3 زیرا راهی را كه خدا به وسیلهٔ آن، انسان را در حضور خود نیک محسوب میکند، نشناختند و كوشیدند راه خودشان را برای به دست آوردن نیكی مطلق درست جلوه دهند و به این دلیل تسلیم نیكی خدا نشدند،
4 زیرا مسیح هدف و تمام كنندهٔ شریعت است برای هرکه ایمان آورد و به این وسیله در حضور خدا نیک شمرده شود.نجات برای همه
5 در مورد آن نیكی كه از شریعت به دست میآید، موسی مینویسد: «هرکه شریعت را به عمل آورد به وسیلهٔ آن زیست خواهد كرد،» 6 امّا دربارهٔ نیكی مطلق كه از راه ایمان به دست میآید میگوید: «در دل خود نگویید كیست كه به آسمان صعود كند؟» (تا مسیح را پایین آورد) 7 یا: «كیست كه به جهان زیرین فرو رود؟» (تا مسیح را باز از میان مردگان بیرون آورد.) 8 او میگوید: «كلام خدا (یعنی همان پیام ایمانی كه ما اعلام میکنیم) نزدیک توست، آن بر لبها و در قلب توست،» 9 زیرا اگر با لبان خود اعتراف كنی كه عیسی، خداوند است و در قلب خود ایمان آوری كه خدا او را پس از مرگ زنده ساخت، نجات خواهی یافت. 10 زیرا انسان با قلب ایمان میآورد و نیک محسوب میگردد و با لبهای خود به ایمانش اعتراف میکند و نجات میباید. 11 کتابمقدّس میفرماید: «هرکه به او ایمان آورد هرگز خجل نخواهد شد.» 12 پس هیچ تفاوتی میان یهودیان و غیر یهودیان نیست زیرا خدای واحد، خداوند همه است و نسبت به همهٔ کسانیکه به او روی میآورند، بیاندازه بخشنده است؛
13 زیرا «هر کس که نام خداوند را بخواند، نجات خواهد یافت.»
14 امّا اگر به او ایمان نیاوردهاند، چگونه میتوانند به او روی آورند؟ و چگونه میتوانند به كسی ایمان آورند كه دربارهٔ او چیزی نشنیدهاند؟ و چگونه میتوانند بدون حضور کسیکه آن پیام را اعلام كند، چیزی بشنوند؟ 15 و آنها چگونه میتوانند پیام را اعلام كنند اگر برای این كار فرستاده نشده باشند؟ چنانکه كتابمقدّس میفرماید: «چه خوش است قدمهای کسانیکه بشارت میدهند.» 16 امّا همه، آن بشارت را نپذیرفتند زیرا خود اشعیا میفرماید: «خداوندا چه كسی پیام ما را باور كرده است؟»
17 پس ایمان از شنیدن پیام پدید میآید و پیام ما كلام مسیح است.
18 امّا میپرسم: «آیا ممكن است كه آنها پیام را نشنیده باشند؟ البتّه شنیدهاند،
زیرا صدای ایشان به سرتاسر جهان
و سخن آنها به دور افتادهترین نقاط دنیا رسیده است.»
19 باز میپرسم: آیا قوم اسرائیل این را نمیدانست؟ قبل از همه، موسی میگوید:
«من به وسیلهٔ کسانیکه حتّی قومی به شمار نمیآیند،
حسادت شما را بر میانگیزم
و توسط قومی نادان،
شما را به خشم خواهم آورد.»
20 و اشعیا با جسارت بیشتر میگوید:
«كسانی مرا یافتند كه طالب من نبودند
و خود را به كسانی ظاهر ساختم كه جویای من نبودند.»
21 امّا دربارهٔ قوم اسرائیل میگوید: «تمام روز با آغوش باز منتظر بازگشت این قوم نافرمان و سركش هستم.»
ROMANS 10
1 Dear friends, my greatest wish and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. 2 I know they love God, but they don't understand 3 what makes people acceptable to him. So they refuse to trust God, and they try to be acceptable by obeying the Law.
4 But Christ makes the Law no longer necessaryt for those who become acceptable to God by faith.Anyone Can Be Saved
5 t Moses said a person could become acceptable to God by obeying the Law. He did this when he wrote, “If you want to live, you must do all the Law commands.”
6 t But people whose faith makes them acceptable to God will never ask, “Who will go up to heaven to bring Christ down?”
7 Neither will they ask, “Who will go down into the world of the dead to raise him to life?”
8 All who are acceptable because of their faith simply say, “The message is as near as your mouth or your heart.” And this is the same message we preach about faith. 9 So you will be saved, if you honestly say, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe with all your heart that God raised him from death.
10 God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this and tell it to others.
11 t The Scriptures say no one who has faith will be disappointed, 12 no matter if that person is a Jew or a Gentile. There is only one Lord, and he is generous to everyone who asks for his help.
13 t All who call out to the Lord will be saved.
14 How can people have faith in the Lord and ask him to save them, if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear, unless someone tells them? 15 t And how can anyone tell them without being sent by the Lord? The Scriptures say it is a beautiful sight to see even the feet of someone coming to preach the good news.
16 t Yet not everyone has believed the message. For example, the prophet Isaiah asked, “Lord, has anyone believed what we said?”
17 No one can have faith without hearing the message about Christ.
18 t But am I saying that the people of Israel did not hear? No, I am not! The Scriptures say,
“The message was told
everywhere on earth.
It was announced
all over the world.”
19 t Did the people of Israel understand or not? Moses answered this question when he told that the Lord had said,
“I will make Israel jealous
of people
who are a nation
of nobodies.
I will make them angry
with people
who don't understand
a thing.”
20 t Isaiah was fearless enough to tell that the Lord had said,
“I was found by people
who were not looking
for me.
I appeared to the ones
who were not asking
about me.”
21 t And Isaiah said about the people of Israel,
“All day long the Lord
has reached out
to people who are stubborn
and refuse to obey.”
