第12章
1 兄弟たちよ。そういうわけで、神のあわれみによってあなたがたに勧める。あなたがたのからだを、神に喜ばれる、生きた、聖なる供え物としてささげなさい。それが、あなたがたのなすべき霊的な礼拝である。2 あなたがたは、この世と妥協してはならない。むしろ、心を新たにすることによって、造りかえられ、何が神の御旨であるか、何が善であって、神に喜ばれ、かつ全きことであるかを、わきまえ知るべきである。3 わたしは、自分に与えられた恵みによって、あなたがたひとりびとりに言う。思うべき限度を越えて思いあがることなく、むしろ、神が各自に分け与えられた信仰の量りにしたがって、慎み深く思うべきである。4 なぜなら、一つのからだにたくさんの肢体があるが、それらの肢体がみな同じ働きをしてはいないように、5 わたしたちも数は多いが、キリストにあって一つのからだであり、また各自は互に肢体だからである。6 このように、わたしたちは与えられた恵みによって、それぞれ異なった賜物を持っているので、もし、それが預言であれば、信仰の程度に応じて預言をし、7 奉仕であれば奉仕をし、また教える者であれば教え、8 勧めをする者であれば勧め、寄附する者は惜しみなく寄附し、指導する者は熱心に指導し、慈善をする者は快く慈善をすべきである。9 愛には偽りがあってはならない。悪は憎み退け、善には親しみ結び、10 兄弟の愛をもって互にいつくしみ、進んで互に尊敬し合いなさい。11 熱心で、うむことなく、霊に燃え、主に仕え、12 望みをいだいて喜び、患難に耐え、常に祈りなさい。13 貧しい聖徒を助け、努めて旅人をもてなしなさい。14 あなたがたを迫害する者を祝福しなさい。祝福して、のろってはならない。15 喜ぶ者と共に喜び、泣く者と共に泣きなさい。16 互に思うことをひとつにし、高ぶった思いをいだかず、かえって低い者たちと交わるがよい。自分が知者だと思いあがってはならない。17 だれに対しても悪をもって悪に報いず、すべての人に対して善を図りなさい。18 あなたがたは、できる限りすべての人と平和に過ごしなさい。19 愛する者たちよ。自分で復讐をしないで、むしろ、神の怒りに任せなさい。なぜなら、「主が言われる。復讐はわたしのすることである。わたし自身が報復する」と書いてあるからである。20 むしろ、「もしあなたの敵が飢えるなら、彼に食わせ、かわくなら、彼に飲ませなさい。そうすることによって、あなたは彼の頭に燃えさかる炭火を積むことになるのである」。21 悪に負けてはいけない。かえって、善をもって悪に勝ちなさい。
Romans 12
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think as to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith.4 For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members have not the same office:5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another.6 And having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;7 or ministry, let us give ourselves to our ministry; or he that teacheth, to his teaching;8 or he that exhorteth, to his exhorting: he that giveth, let him do it with liberality; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.10 In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honor preferring one another;11 in diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;12 rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer;13 communicating to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.14 Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.15 Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to things that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits.17 Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honorable in the sight of all men.18 If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men.19 Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath of God: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord.20 But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
