II. SECCIÓN EXHORTATORIA (12.1–15.13)
La vida nueva
1 Por tanto,t hermanos míos, os ruego por la misericordia de Dios que os presentéis a vosotros mismost como ofrenda viva,t consagrada y agradable a Dios. Este es el verdaderot culto que debéis ofrecer.
2 No viváis conforme a los criterios del tiempo presente; por el contrario, cambiad vuestra manera de pensar,t para que así cambie vuestra manera de vivir y lleguéis a conocer la voluntad de Dios, es decir, lo que es bueno, lo que le es grato, lo que es perfecto.t
3 Por el encargo que Dios me ha dado en su bondad,t os digo a todos que nadie piense de sí mismo más de lo que debe pensar. Antes bien, piense cada uno de sí con moderación, según los dones que Dios le haya concedido junto con la fe. 4 Porque así como en un solo cuerpo tenemos muchos miembros, pero no todos los miembros sirven para lo mismo,
5 así también nosotros, aunque somos muchos, formamos un solo cuerpo en Cristo y estamos unidos unos a otros como miembros de un mismo cuerpo.t
6 Dios nos ha concedido diferentes dones, conforme a lo que quiso conceder a cada uno. Y si Dios nos ha concedido el don de profecía,t hablemos según la fe que tenemos; 7 si nos ha concedido el don de servir a otros, sirvámosles bien. El que haya recibido el don de enseñar, dedíquese a la enseñanza;
8 el que haya recibido el don de animar a otros, dedíquese a animarlos. El que da, hágalo con sencillez; el que ocupa un puesto de responsabilidad, desempeñe su cargo con todo esmero; el que ayuda a los necesitados, hágalo con alegría.tDeberes de la vida cristiana
9 Amaos con toda sinceridad.t Aborreced lo malo y seguid lo bueno.t
10 Amaos como hermanos los unos a los otros, dándoos mutuamente preferencia y respeto.t
11 Esforzaos, no seáis perezosos y servid al Señor con corazón ferviente.t
12 Vivid alegres por la esperanza que tenéis; soportad con valor los sufrimientos; no dejéis nunca de orar.t
13 Ayudad en sus necesidades a los que pertenecen al pueblo santo; recibid bien a los que os visitan.t
14 Bendecid a los que os persiguen;t bendecidlos y no los maldigáis.
15 Alegraos con los que están alegres y llorad con los que lloran.t
16 Vivid en armonía unos con otros.t No seáis orgullosos, sino poneos al nivel de los humildes.t No os tengáis por sabios.t
17 No paguéis a nadie mal por mal.t Procurad hacer lo bueno delante de todos.t 18 Hasta donde dependa de vosotros, haced lo posible por vivir en paz con todos.t 19 Queridos hermanos, no os toméis la justicia por vuestra mano,t sino dejad que sea Dios quien castigue; porque el Señor dice en la Escritura: “A mí me corresponde hacer justicia; yo pagaré.”t 20 Y también: “Si tu enemigo tiene hambre dale de comer; si tiene sed dale de beber. Así harás que le arda la cara de vergüenza.”t 21 No te dejes vencer por el mal. Al contrario, vence con el bien el mal.
Romans 12
Consecration of the Believer’s Life
1 Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters,t by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice – alive, holy, and pleasing to Godts – which is your reasonable service.
2 Do not be conformedt to this present world,t but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approves what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.
Conduct in Humility
3 For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of yout a measure of faith.t4 For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function,5 so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.6 And we have different giftst according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith.7 If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach;
8 if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.
Conduct in Love
9 Love must bet without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.10 Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.11 Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.12 Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.13 Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.14 Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly.t Do not be conceited.t17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.t18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.t19 Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath,t for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,”s says the Lord.20 Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head.s
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
