로마서 12

그리스도 안에서 하는 새로운 생활

1  t형제자매 여러분, 그러므로 나는 하나님의 자비하심을 힘입어 여러분에게 권합니다. 여러분의 몸을 하나님께서 기뻐하실 거룩한 산 제물로 드리십시오. 이것이 여러분이 드릴 합당한 예배입니다. 2 여러분은 이 시대의 풍조를 본받지 말고, 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아서, 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 완전하신 뜻이 무엇인지를 분별하도록 하십시오. 3 나는 내가 받은 은혜를 힘입어서, 여러분 각 사람에게 말합니다. 여러분은 스스로 마땅히 생각해야 하는 것 이상으로 생각하지 말고, 하나님께서 각 사람에게 나누어주신 믿음의 분량대로, 분수에 맞게 생각하십시오. 4 한 몸에 많은 지체가 있으나, 그 지체들이 다 같은 일을 하는 것이 아닙니다. 5 이와 같이, 우리도 여럿이지만 그리스도 안에서 한 몸을 이루고 있으며, 각 사람은 서로 지체입니다. 6 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 은혜를 따라, 우리는 저마다 다른 신령한 선물을 가지고 있습니다. 가령, 그것이 예언이면 믿음의 정도에 맞게 예언할 것이요, 7 섬기는 일이면 섬기는 일에 힘써야 합니다. 또 가르치는 사람이면 가르치는 일에, 8 권면하는 사람이면 권면하는 일에 힘쓸 것이요, 나누어 주는 사람은 순수한 마음으로, 지도하는 사람은 열성으로, 자선을 베푸는 사람은 기쁜 마음으로 해야 합니다.

9 사랑에는 거짓이 없어야 합니다. 악한 것을 미워하고, 선한 것을 굳게 잡으십시오. 10 형제의 사랑으로 서로 다정하게 대하며, 존경하기를 서로 먼저 하십시오. 11 열심을 내어서 부지런히 일하며, 성령으로 뜨거워진 마음을 가지고 주님을 섬기십시오. 12 소망을 품고 즐거워하며, 환난을 당할 때에 참으며, 기도를 꾸준히 하십시오. 13 성도들이 쓸 것을 공급하고, 손님 대접하기를 힘쓰십시오. 14 여러분을 박해하는 사람들을 축복하십시오. 축복을 하고, 저주를 하지 마십시오. 15 기뻐하는 사람들과 함께 기뻐하고, 우는 사람들과 함께 우십시오. 16 서로 한 마음이 되고, 교만한 마음을 품지 말고, 비천한 사람들과 함께 사귀고, 스스로 지혜가 있는 체하지 마십시오. 17 아무에게도 악을 악으로 갚지 말고, 모든 사람이 선하다고 생각하는 일을 하려고 애쓰십시오. 18 여러분 쪽에서 할 수 있는 대로 모든 사람과 더불어 화평하게 지내십시오. 19 사랑하는 여러분, 여러분은 스스로 원수를 갚지 말고, 그 일은 t하나님의 진노하심에 맡기십시오. 성경에도 기록하기를 “t‘원수 갚는 것은 내가 할 일이니, 내가 갚겠다’고 주님께서 말씀하신다” 하였습니다. 20 t“네 원수가 주리거든 먹을 것을 주고, 그가 목말라 하거든 마실 것을 주어라. 그렇게 하는 것은, 네가 그의 머리 위에다가 숯불을 쌓는 셈이 될 것이다” 하였습니다. 21 악에게 지지 말고, 선으로 악을 이기십시오.

Christ Brings New Life

1 Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God.

2 Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.
3 I realize God has treated me with undeserved grace, and so I tell each of you not to think you are better than you really are. Use good sense and measure yourself by the amount of faith that God has given you. 4 t A body is made up of many parts, and each of them has its own use.

5 That's how it is with us. There are many of us, but we each are part of the body of Christ, as well as part of one another.
6  t God has also given each of us different gifts to use. If we can prophesy, we should do it according to the amount of faith we have. 7 If we can serve others, we should serve. If we can teach, we should teach.

8 If we can encourage others, we should encourage them. If we can give, we should be generous. If we are leaders, we should do our best. If we are good to others, we should do it cheerfully.

Rules for Christian Living

9 Be sincere in your love for others. Hate everything that is evil and hold tight to everything that is good. 10 Love each other as brothers and sisters and honor others more than you do yourself. 11 Never give up. Eagerly follow the Holy Spirit and serve the Lord. 12 Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying.

13 Take care of God's needy people and welcome strangers into your home.
14  t Ask God to bless everyone who mistreats you. Ask him to bless them and not to curse them. 15 t When others are happy, be happy with them, and when they are sad, be sad. 16 t Be friendly with everyone. Don't be proud and feel that you know more than others. Make friends with ordinary people.t 17 Don't mistreat someone who has mistreated you. But try to earn the respect of others,

18 and do your best to live at peace with everyone.

19  t Dear friends, don't try to get even. Let God take revenge. In the Scriptures the Lord says,
“I am the one to take revenge
and pay them back.”

20  t The Scriptures also say,
“If your enemies are hungry,
give them something to eat.
And if they are thirsty,
give them something
to drink.
This will be the same
as piling burning coals
on their heads.”
21 Don't let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.
