一五

1-2 何かをする場合、別に主に対して何の支障もないとわかっていても、ただ自分の喜びのためにするのはいけません。　それは悪いことではないかと、疑問や不安をいだく人のことを思いやり、そういう弱い人々の「重荷」を軽くしてやりなさい。　自分ではなく、人を喜ばせましょう。　そして、人の益になることをし、その人が主にあって成長できるよう助けましょう。　3 キリスト様も、自分を喜ばせようとはなさいませんでした。　「彼が来られたのは、実に、敵対する者たちの侮辱を受けて苦しむためであった」と、詩篇の作者が言っているとおりです。　4 ずっと昔に旧約聖書に書かれたこのことばは、私たちに忍耐を教え、励ますためのものです。　また、神様が死と罪の力とを打ち破ってくださる時を、私たちが期待にあふれて待ち望むためのものです。
5 どうか、不動の忍耐力と励ましを与える神様が、あなたがたが一つ思いとなって仲よく暮らしてゆけるよう、助けてくださいますように。　一人一人が互いに、キリスト様の、他の人に対する態度を見ならうことができますように。　6 そうしてはじめて、私たちはみな、主イエス・キリストの父なる神をほめたたえ、声を合わせて賛美できるのです。
7 そういうわけですから、キリスト様があなたがたをあたたかく受け入れてくださったように、あなたがたもお互い同士、あたたかく教会に受け入れ合いなさい。　そうすれば、神様があがめられるのです。　8 イエス・キリストが来られたのは、神様がご自分の約束に対して誠実な方であることを示すため、またユダヤ人を助けるためであったことを、思い出してください。　9 それはまた、外国人も救われて、自分たちに対する神様のあわれみのゆえに神様をほめたたえるためでもあったことを、思い出してください。　このことを、詩篇の作者は次のように書いています。
「私は外国人の中で、あなたを賛美し、
あなたの御名をほめ歌おう。」
10 また、ほかの個所にはこうあります。
「外国人よ。　主の民であるユダヤ人と共に喜べ。」
11 さらにまた、
「外国人よ。　主をほめたたえよ。
すべての人よ。　主をほめたたえよ。」
12 また、預言者イザヤはこう言っています。
「エッサイの家系に一人の世継ぎが生まれる。
その方は外国人を治める王となる。
彼らは、ただこの方だけに望みをかける。」
13 そこで、私はあなたがた外国人のために祈ります。　どうか、希望を与えてくださる神様が、神様を信じているあなたがたを幸せにし、平安で満たしてくださいますように。　またどうか、あなたがたに働きかける聖霊様の力によって、神様にある希望にあふれさせてくださいますように。
14 私の兄弟たちよ。　あなたがたが知恵に満ち、善意にあふれていること、そして、これらを余すところなく他の人々に教えることができるほど、よくわきまえていることを、私は知っているのです。15-16 しかし、それにもかかわらず、かなり大胆に、そのことを強調してきました。　あなたがたに、そのことを思い起こしてもらいたかったからです。　私は、神様の恵みにより、キリスト・イエスから、あなたがた外国人のもとに遣わされた特使であって、良い知らせを伝え、かおり高い供え物として、あなたがたを神様にささげる務めを果たしているのです。　あなたがたは聖霊様によって、きよい者、神様に喜ばれる者とされています。　17 それで、キリスト・イエスが私を用いてなしてくださったすべてのことについて、少しは誇ってもよいと思います。　18 私は、キリスト様がほかの人たちをどのように有効にお用いになったかについて、どうこう言うつもりはありません。　ただこのことだけは知っています。　外国人を神様に導くために、キリスト様が私を役立ててくださったということです。　私は、ことばと、生活態度、　19 および、神からのしるしとして私を通してなされた奇蹟によって、外国人を神様に導いてきました。　すべては聖霊様の力によってなされたのです。　このようにして、私は、エルサレムからイルリコに至るまで、キリスト様の良い知らせを、くまなく伝えてきました。
20 しかし、そのあいだ中、私が切に願っていたことは、もっと遠くまで出かけることでした。　すでに、だれかほかの人によって教会がスタートしている所ではなく、むしろ、キリスト様という尊い名を、まだ一度も聞いたことがない人々のところで、良い知らせを宣べ伝えたいと、切に望んだのです。　21 私は、旧約聖書に述べられている計画に従ってきました。　すなわち、イザヤが、キリスト様という名を一度も聞いたことのない人々が、見て理解するようになる、と言っているとおりに。　22 このような事情のもとで、私は長いこと、あなたがたのところに行けませんでした。
23 しかし、ついに、こちらでの働きも終わり、長いあいだ待ったかいがあって、とうとう、そちらに行けそうです。　24 実は今、スペイン旅行を計画しているのです。　その途中、ローマに立ち寄るつもりです。　そして、わずかな間でも、共に楽しい時を過ごしてから、あなたがたに送られて、旅を続けたいと願っています。
25 しかし、その前に、エルサレムに行かなければなりません。　そこにいるユダヤ人のクリスチャンに贈り物を届けるためです。　26 ご存じのように、マケドニヤとアカヤのクリスチャンが、いま困難な目に会っているエルサレムのクリスチャンのために、募金することにしたからです。　27 彼らは喜んでしてくれました。　エルサレムのクリスチャンには大きな借りがあると思っているのです。　なぜでしょうか。　キリスト様の良い知らせは、エルサレムの教会から伝えられたからです。　彼らは、エルサレム教会から、良い知らせという、すばらしい霊の贈り物を受けました。　そこで、いくらかでも物質的な援助をして、せめてもの恩返しができればと願っているのです。　28 それで私は、このお金を渡して、彼らの善行を完了させしだい、スペイン旅行の途中で、あなたがたを訪ねたいと思っています。　29 その時には、きっと、主からの大きな祝福をお分かちできるでしょう。
30 どうか、私の祈りの友になってください。　主イエス・キリストのゆえに、また、聖霊様によってあなたがたが私を愛する愛のゆえに、私の働きのために、共に精一杯祈ってください。　31 エルサレムにいる、クリスチャン以外の人々から、私が無事に守られるよう祈ってください。　また、私の持って行くお金を、エルサレムのクリスチャンが喜んで受け取ってくれるようにも、祈ってください。　32 そうすれば、私は、神の御心により、喜びにあふれて、あなたがたのところに行き、互いに励まし合うことができます。
33 どうか、平安を与えてくださる神様が、今あなたがた一同と共にいてくださいますように。　アーメン。

Romans 15

1 Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.2 Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, unto edifying.3 For Christ also pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me.4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.5 Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:6 that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.7 Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.8 For I say that Christ hath been made a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises given unto the fathers,9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, Therefore will I give praise unto thee among the Gentiles, And sing unto thy name.

10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; And let all the peoples praise him.

12 And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope.

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.15 But I write the more boldly unto you in some measure, as putting you again in remembrance, because of the grace that was given me of God,16 that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.17 I have therefore my glorifying in Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God.18 For I will not dare to speak of any things save those which Christ wrought through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about even unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ;20 yea, making it my aim so to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build upon another man’s foundation;21 but, as it is written, They shall see, to whom no tidings of him came, And they who have not heard shall understand.

22 Wherefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you:23 but now, having no more any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come unto you,24 whensoever I go unto Spain (for I hope to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first in some measure I shall have been satisfied with your company)--25 but now, I say, I go unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints.26 For it hath been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints that are at Jerusalem.27 Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to minister unto them in carnal things.28 When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by you unto Spain.29 And I know that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of Christ.30 Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;31 that I may be delivered from them that are disobedient in Judaea, and that my ministration which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints;32 that I may come unto you in joy through the will of God, and together with you find rest.33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
