Romanos 15

1 Así que, los que somos fuertes debemos soportar las flaquezas de los débiles, en vez de hacer lo que nos agrada.2 Cada uno de nosotros debe agradar a su prójimo en lo que es bueno, con el fin de edificarlo.3 Porque ni aun Cristo se agradó a sí mismo sino que, como está escrito: «Las ofensas de los que te insultaban cayeron sobre mí.»t4 Las cosas que se escribieron antes, se escribieron para nuestra enseñanza, a fin de que tengamos esperanza por medio de la paciencia y la consolación de las Escrituras.5 Que el Dios de la paciencia y de la consolación les conceda a ustedes un mismo sentir, según Cristo Jesús,6 para que todos juntos y a una sola voz glorifiquen al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

El evangelio a los no judíos

7 Por tanto, recíbanse unos a otros, como también Cristo nos recibió, para la gloria de Dios.8 Pues les digo que Cristo Jesús vino a ser siervo de los judíos para mostrar la verdad de Dios, para confirmar las promesas hechas a nuestros antepasados,

9 y para que los que no son judíos glorifiquen a Dios por su misericordia, como está escrito:«Por tanto, yo te confesaré entre las naciones,
Y cantaré salmos a tu nombre.»t

10 Y en otra parte dice:«Alégrense, naciones, con su pueblo.»t

11 Y también dice:«Alaben al Señor todas las naciones,
Y exáltenlo todos los pueblos.»t

12 Y otra vez dice Isaías:«Se alzará la raíz de Yesé;
se levantará a gobernar a las naciones,
las cuales pondrán en él su esperanza.»t


13 ¡Que el Dios de la esperanza los llene de todo gozo y paz en la fe, para que rebosen de esperanza por el poder del Espíritu Santo!

14 Estoy seguro, hermanos míos, de que ustedes mismos están llenos de bondad y de todo conocimiento, de tal manera que pueden amonestarse unos a otros.15 Pero les he escrito con toda franqueza, como para hacerles recordar, por la gracia que Dios me ha dado,16 para ser ministro de Jesucristo a los no judíos y ministrarles el evangelio de Dios, para que ellos sean una ofrenda agradable a Dios, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.17 Tengo, pues, de qué gloriarme en Cristo Jesús en lo que a Dios se refiere.18 Porque no me atrevería a contar sino lo que, de palabra y obra, Cristo ha hecho por medio de mí para la obediencia de los no judíos;19 y esto mediante poderosas señales y prodigios, en el poder del Espíritu de Dios, de tal manera que desde Jerusalén y por los alrededores hasta Ilírico, todo lo he llenado del evangelio de Cristo.20 Fue así como me esforcé a predicar el evangelio, no donde Cristo ya hubiera sido anunciado, para no edificar sobre fundamento ajeno,

21 sino, como está escrito:«Aquellos a quienes nunca les fue anunciado acerca de él, verán;
Y los que nunca han oído de él, entenderán.»t

Pablo se propone ir a Roma

22 Por esto muchas veces no me ha sido posible ir a visitarlos;t23 pero como no me queda más tarea pendiente en estas regiones, y como desde hace muchos años deseo ir a verlos,24 iré a visitarlos ahora que vaya a España. Espero verlos cuando pase por allá, y que me ayuden a continuar con mi viaje, luego de haber disfrutado de su compañía.25 Pero ahora voy a Jerusalén para servir a los santos.26 Macedonia y Acaya tuvieron a bien hacer una ofrenda para los pobres que hay entre los santos que están en Jerusalén,t27 pues les pareció que era lo correcto, y se sienten en deuda con ellos. Porque si los que no son judíos han sido hechos partícipes de las bendiciones espirituales, deben también compartir las bendiciones materiales.t28 Así que, cuando esto haya concluido y yo les haya entregado este fruto, pasaré a visitarlos de camino a España,29 y sé que, cuando los visite, llegaré con la abundante bendición del evangelio de Cristo.

30 Pero les ruego, hermanos, por nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor del Espíritu, que me ayuden con sus oraciones a Dios por mí,31 para que sea yo librado de los rebeldes que están en Judea, y que la ofrenda de mi servicio a los santos en Jerusalén sea agradable,32 para que, por la voluntad de Dios, llegue a ustedes gozoso y pueda descansar entre ustedes.33 Que el Dios de paz sea con todos ustedes. Amén.

ROMANS 15

Please Others and Not Yourself

1 If our faith is strong, we should be patient with the Lord's followers whose faith is weak. We should try to please them instead of ourselves. 2 We should think of their good and try to help them by doing what pleases them. 3 t Even Christ did not try to please himself. But as the Scriptures say, “The people who insulted you also insulted me.” 4 t And the Scriptures were written to teach and encourage us by giving us hope. 5 God is the one who makes us patient and cheerful. I pray that he will help you live at peace with each other, as you follow Christ.

6 Then all of you together will praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Good News Is for Jews //and Gentiles

9 t so that the Gentiles would praise God for being kind to them. It is just as the Scriptures say,
“I will tell the nations
about you,
and I will sing praises
to your name.”

10  t The Scriptures also say to the Gentiles, “Come and celebrate with God's people.”

11  t Again the Scriptures say,
“Praise the Lord,
all you Gentiles.
All you nations, come
and worship him.”

12  t Isaiah says,
“Someone from David's family
will come to power.
He will rule the nations,
and they will put their hope
in him.”

13 I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete happiness and peace because of your faith. And may the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope.

Paul's Work as a Missionary

16 He chose me to be a servant of Christ Jesus for the Gentiles and to do the work of a priest in the service of his good news. God did this so that the Holy Spirit could make the Gentiles into a holy offering, pleasing to him.
17 Because of Christ Jesus, I can take pride in my service for God. 18 In fact, all I will talk about is how Christ let me speak and work, so that the Gentiles would obey him. 19 Indeed, I will tell how Christ worked miracles and wonders by the power of the Holy Spirit. I have preached the good news about him all the way from Jerusalem to Illyricum. 20 But I have always tried to preach where people have never heard about Christ. I am like a builder who doesn't build on someone else's foundation.

21 t It is just as the Scriptures say,
“All who haven't been told
about him
will see him,
and those who haven't heard
about him
will understand.”

Paul's Plan To Visit Rome

24 So I plan to stop off on my way to Spain. Then after a short, but refreshing, visit with you, I hope you will quickly send me on.
25-26  t I am now on my way to Jerusalem to deliver the money that the Lord's followers in Macedonia and Achaia collected for God's needy people. 27 t This is something they really wanted to do. But sharing their money with the Jews was also like paying back a debt, because the Jews had already shared their spiritual blessings with the Gentiles. 28 After I have safely delivered this money, I will visit you and then go on to Spain.

29 And when I do arrive in Rome, I know it will be with the full blessings of Christ.
30 My friends, by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the love that comes from the Holy Spirit, I beg you to pray sincerely with me and for me. 31 Pray that God will protect me from the unbelievers in Judea, and that his people in Jerusalem will be pleased with what I am doing. 32 Ask God to let me come to you and have a pleasant and refreshing visit. 33 I pray that God, who gives peace, will be with all of you. Amen.
