Romanos 15

1 Nós que somos fortes na fé devemos ajudar os que são fracos. Devemos ajudá-los nas suas fraquezas e não tentar somente agradar a nós mesmos.2 Que cada um de nós procure agradar os outros, para o bem deles, a fim de ajudá-los a crescer na fé.3 Nem mesmo Cristo viveu para fazer o que lhe era agradável. Assim como as Escriturast disseram: As ofensas daqueles que ofenderam o senhor caíram sobre mimt.4 Tudo o que foi escrito anteriormente, foi escrito para nos ensinar, para que tenhamos esperança. E essa esperança vem da paciência e da coragem que as Escrituras nos dão.5 A paciência e a coragem vêm de Deus. E eu peço a Deus que Ele os ajude a viver em harmonia uns com os outros, assim como Cristo Jesus quer.6 Assim, todos vocês, juntos e unidos, poderão dar glória a Deus, Pai do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.7 Portanto, como Cristo os aceitou, aceitem uns aos outros, para a glória de Deus.8 Pois eu digo que Cristo se fez servo dos judeus para confirmar as promessas que Deus tinha feito aos pais deles, e para mostrar que essas promessas são verdadeiras.9 E também fez isso para que todos os que não são judeus dêem glória a Deus pela misericórdia que Ele teve para com eles. Como dizem as Escrituras:
"Por isso eu glorificarei ao Senhor entre os povos que não são judeus.
Louvarei o seu nome em canções".t

10 As Escriturast também dizem:Vocês que não são judeus, alegrem-se com o povo de Deus.t

11 E ainda dizem:
"Louvem ao Senhor vocês que não são judeus.
Todos os povos devem louvá-lo".t

12 E Isaías também diz:
"Um filho nascerá da família de Jessét.Ele virá para governar aqueles que não são judeuse eles terão esperança por causa dele.t

13 Que Deus, que nos dá a esperança, encha a vocês de alegria e paz enquanto confiarem nele. E assim, a esperança de vocês vai transbordar pelo poder do Espírito Santot.

A carta e o trabalho de Paulo

14 Meus irmãos, tenho a certeza de que vocês estão cheios de bondade. Sei que sabem tudo quanto devem saber e que são capazes de ensinar uns aos outros.15 Mas me atrevi a escrever sobre certos assuntos, porque queria que vocês se lembrassem deles. E fiz isto porque Deus me deu este privilégio:

16 o privilégio de ser ministro de Jesus Cristo, enviado aos que não são judeus. Eu sirvo a Deus ensinando as suas Boas Novast, para que aqueles que não são judeus possam ser oferecidos como um sacrifício aceitável a Deus e purificados pelo Espírito Santot.
17 Sinto orgulho por aquilo que faço para Deus, por intermédio de Cristo.18 Não quero falar daquilo que eu mesmo fiz, mas sim do que Cristo fez por meu intermédio: Ele levou os que não são judeus a obedecerem a Deus por meio daquilo que eu disse e fiz.19 Eles obedeceram a Deus por causa do poder dos milagres, por causa das grandes coisas que viram e por causa do poder do Espírito Santot. Anunciei as Boas Novast por todos os lados, desde Jerusalém até Ilíria. Assim acabei com aquela parte do meu trabalho.20 A minha vontade é anunciar as Boas Novas em lugares onde nunca ninguém ouviu falar de Cristo, para não construir sobre o alicerce começado por outra pessoa.21 Pois assim dizem as Escriturast:Aqueles que não tiveram notícia dele, verão;e aqueles que nunca ouviram falar dele, entenderão.t

O plano de Paulo para visitar Roma

22 Por causa disso, por muitas vezes fui impedido de ir visitá-los.23 Mas agora já não tenho mais trabalho nestas regiões. Como desde há muito tempo eu queria ir visitá-los,24 espero poder fazê-lo quando for a caminho da Espanha. Então ficarei com vocês para desfrutar um pouco da sua companhia e, depois, poderão me ajudar na viagem.25 Agora vou para Jerusalém para ajudar o povo de Deus.26 Porque as igrejas da Macedônia e da Acaia resolveram dar uma oferta para aqueles que são pobres entre o povo de Deus e que vivem em Jerusalém.27 Eles mesmos resolveram fazer isto e, de fato, eles têm uma obrigação para com os que estão em Jerusalém. Pois se aqueles que não são judeus têm participado das bênçãos espirituais dos judeus, também deveriam servir aos judeus com bênçãos materiais.28 Depois de terminar esta coleta e entregar o dinheiro que foi ofertado nas mãos dos pobres de Jerusalém, eu viajarei para a Espanha e, no caminho, visitarei a vocês.

29 E eu sei que, quando os visitar, levarei comigo toda a bênção de Cristo.
30 Irmãos, peço-lhes, pelo nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo e pelo amor que o Espírito Santot nos dá, que vocês se unam a mim, orando com fervor a Deus por mim.31 Orem para que, na Judéia, eu me livre dos que não acreditam em Cristo. Orem também para que a ajuda que eu levo para Jerusalém seja bem recebida pelo povo de Deus.32 Então depois, se Deus quiser, chegarei até vocês com grande alegria e seremos mutuamente encorajados.

33 E que Deus, nossa fonte de paz, esteja com todos vocês. Amém.

Romans 15

Self-denial on Behalf of Others

1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves.2 Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "THE REPROACHES OF THOSE WHO REPROACHED YOU FELL ON ME."4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.5 Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7 Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.8 For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers,9 and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written,
"THEREFORE I WILL GIVE PRAISE TO YOU AMONG THE GENTILES,
AND I WILL SING TO YOUR NAME."10 Again he says,
"REJOICE, O GENTILES, WITH HIS PEOPLE."11 And again,
"PRAISE THE LORD ALL YOU GENTILES,
AND LET ALL THE PEOPLES PRAISE HIM."12 Again Isaiah says,
"THERE SHALL COME THE ROOT OF JESSE,
AND HE WHO ARISES TO RULE OVER THE GENTILES,
IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES HOPE."13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

14 And concerning you, my brethren, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another.15 But I have written very boldly to you on some points so as to remind you again, because of the grace that was given me from God,16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.17 Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.18 For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed,19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.20 And thus I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, so that I would not build on another man's foundation;21 but as it is written,
"THEY WHO HAD NO NEWS OF HIM SHALL SEE,
AND THEY WHO HAVE NOT HEARD SHALL UNDERSTAND."

22 For this reason I have often been prevented from coming to you;23 but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you24 whenever I go to Spain-for I hope to see you in passing, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while-25 but now, I am going to Jerusalem serving the saints.26 For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.27 Yes, they were pleased to do so, and they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things.28 Therefore, when I have finished this, and have put my seal on this fruit of theirs, I will go on by way of you to Spain.29 I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.

30 Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,31 that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints;32 so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and find refreshing rest in your company.33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
