로마서 5
의롭게 하여 주심을 받은 사람의 삶
1 그러므로 우리는 믿음으로 의롭다 하심을 받았으므로, 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님과 더불어 평화를 t누리고 있습니다. 2 우리는 또한, 그리스도로 말미암아 지금 서 있는 이 은혜의 자리에 [믿음으로] 나아오게 되었으며, 하나님의 영광에 이르게 될 소망을 품고 t자랑을 합니다. 3 그뿐만 아니라, 우리는 t환난을 t자랑합니다. 우리가 알기로, 환난은 인내력을 낳고, 4 인내력은 단련된 인격을 낳고, 단련된 인격은 희망을 낳는 줄을 알고 있기 때문입니다. 5 이 희망은 우리를 실망시키지 않습니다. 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 성령을 통하여 그의 사랑을 우리 마음 속에 부어 주셨기 때문입니다. 6 우리가 아직 약할 때에, 그리스도께서는 제 때에, 경건하지 않은 사람을 위하여 죽으셨습니다. 7 의인을 위해서라도 죽을 사람은 거의 없습니다. 더욱이 선한 사람을 위해서라도 감히 죽을 사람은 드뭅니다. 8 그러나 우리가 아직 죄인이었을 때에, 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으셨습니다. 이리하여 하나님께서는 우리들에 대한 자기의 사랑을 실증하셨습니다. 9 그러므로 지금 우리가 그리스도의 피로 의롭게 되었으니, 그리스도로 말미암아 t하나님의 진노에서 구원을 얻으리라는 것은 더욱 확실합니다. 10 우리가 하나님의 원수일 때에도 하나님의 아들의 죽으심으로 말미암아 하나님과 화해하게 되었다면, 화해한 우리가 하나님의 생명으로 구원을 얻으리라는 것은 더욱더 확실한 일입니다. 11 그뿐만 아니라, 우리는 또한 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님을 자랑합니다. 우리는 지금 그로 말미암아 하나님과 화해를 하게 된 것입니다.
아담과 그리스도
12 그러므로 한 사람으로 말미암아 죄가 세상에 들어왔고, 또 그 죄로 말미암아 죽음이 들어온 것과 같이, 모든 사람이 죄를 지었기 때문에 죽음이 모든 사람에게 이르게 되었습니다. 13 율법이 있기 전에도 죄가 세상에 있었으나, 율법이 없을 때에는 죄가 죄로 여겨지지 않았습니다. 14 그러나 아담 시대로부터 모세 시대에 이르기까지는 아담의 범죄와 같은 죄를 짓지 않은 사람들까지도 죽음의 지배를 받았습니다. 아담은 장차 오실 분의 모형이었습니다.
15 그러나 하나님께서 은혜를 베푸실 때에 생긴 일은, 아담 한 사람이 범죄 했을 때에 생긴 일과 같지 않습니다. 한 사람의 범죄로 많은 사람이 죽었으나, 하나님의 은혜와 예수 그리스도 한 사람의 은혜로 말미암은 선물은, 많은 사람에게 더욱더 넘쳐나게 되었습니다. 16 또한, 하나님께서 주시는 선물은 한 사람의 범죄의 결과와 같지 않습니다. 한 범죄에서는 심판이 뒤따라와서 유죄 판결이 내려졌습니다마는, 많은 범죄에서는 은혜가 뒤따라와서 무죄 선언이 내려졌습니다. 17 아담 한 사람의 범죄 때문에 그 한 사람으로 말미암아 죽음이 왕노릇 하게 되었다면, 넘치는 은혜와 의의 선물을 받는 사람들은, 예수 그리스도 한 분으로 말미암아, 생명 안에서 왕노릇 하게 되리라는 것은 더욱더 확실합니다. 18 그러니 한 사람의 범죄 행위 때문에 모든 사람이 유죄판결을 받았는데, 이제는 한 사람의 의로운 행위 때문에 모든 사람이 의롭다는 인정을 받아서 생명을 얻게 되었습니다. 19 한 사람이 순종하지 않음으로 말미암아 많은 사람이 죄인으로 판정을 받았는데, 이제는 한 사람이 순종함으로 말미암아 많은 사람이 의인으로 판정을 받을 것입니다. 20 율법은 범죄를 증가시키려고 끼여 들어온 것입니다. 그러나 죄가 많은 곳에, 은혜가 더욱 넘치게 되었습니다. 21 그것은, 죄가 죽음으로 사람을 지배한 것과 같이, 은혜가 의를 통하여 사람을 지배하여, 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 얻는 영원한 생명에 이르게 하려는 것입니다.
ROMANS 5
What It Means //To Be Acceptable //to God
1 By faith we have been made acceptable to God. And now, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, we have peacet with God. 2 Christ has also introduced ust to God's gift of undeserved grace on which we now take our stand. So we are happy, as we look forward to sharing in the glory of God. 3 But that's not all! We gladly suffer, t because we know that suffering helps us to endure. 4 And endurance builds character, which gives us a hope
5 that will never disappoint us. All of this happens because God has given us the Holy Spirit, who fills our hearts with his love.
6 Christ died for us at a time when we were helpless and sinful. 7 No one is really willing to die for an honest person, though someone might be willing to die for a truly good person.
8 But God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful.
9 But there is more! Now that God has accepted us because Christ sacrificed his life's blood, we will also be kept safe from God's anger. 10 Even when we were God's enemies, he made peace with us, because his Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by the life of his Son.
11 And in addition to everything else, we are happy because God sent our Lord Jesus Christ to make peace with us.Adam and Christ
12 t Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die. 13 Sin was in the world before the Law came. But no record of sin was kept, because there was no Law.
14 Yet death still had power over all who lived from the time of Adam to the time of Moses. This happened, though not everyone disobeyed a direct command from God, as Adam did.
In some ways Adam is like Christ who came later.
15 But the gift of God's undeserved grace was very different from Adam's sin. That one sin brought death to many others. Yet in an even greater way, Jesus Christ alone brought God's gift of undeserved grace to many people.
16 There is a lot of difference between Adam's sin and God's gift. That one sin led to punishment. But God's gift made it possible for us to be acceptable to him, even though we have sinned many times.
17 Death ruled like a king because Adam had sinned. But that cannot compare with what Jesus Christ has done. God has treated us with undeserved grace, and he has accepted us because of Jesus. And so we will live and rule like kings.
18 t Everyone was going to be punished because Adam sinned. But because of the good thing that Christ has done, God accepts us and gives us the gift of life.
19 Adam disobeyed God and caused many others to be sinners. But Jesus obeyed him and will make many people acceptable to God.
20 The Law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen. Yet where sin was powerful, God's gift of undeserved grace was even more powerful. 21 Sin ruled by means of death. But God's gift of grace now rules, and God has accepted us because of Jesus Christ our Lord. This means that we will have eternal life.
