Békességben Istennel

1 Most tehát Isten elfogad bennünket a hitünk alapján. Ezért Urunk, Jézus Krisztus által békességben élünk vele.

2 Hitünk által Jézus bevitt bennünket Isten kegyelmébe, amelyben élünk, és amit élvezünk. Nagyon örülünk annak, hogy reménységünk szerint részt fogunk venni Isten dicsőségében.

3 De nemcsak ennek örülünk, hanem a megpróbáltatásoknak is, amelyeket ki kell állnunk. Miért? Mert tudjuk, hogy ezek türelmes kitartást fejlesztenek ki bennünk.

4 A türelmesség eredménye a kipróbált jellem, abból pedig reménység származik.

5 Ez a reménység pedig soha nem fog csalódást okozni. Hiszen Isten szeretete betöltötte szívünket a Szent Szellem által, aki Isten ajándéka a számunkra.

6 Amikor eljött a megszabott ideje, Krisztus meghalt értünk, bűnösökért. Mi akkor még gyengék voltunk.

7 Nehéz volna olyan embert találni, aki hajlandó lenne meghalni, hogy valaki mást megmentsen, még akkor is, ha az a másik igazságos. Egy jó emberért talán mégis vállalná a halált valaki,

8 Isten azonban azzal mutatta meg, mennyire szeret bennünket, hogy Krisztus már akkor meghalt értünk, amikor még a bűneinkben éltünk.

9 Akkor most mennyivel inkább megmenekülünk Isten haragjától Krisztus által! Hiszen Isten már elfogadott bennünket Krisztus vére, vagyis a halála által.

10 Amikor még ellenségei voltunk, Isten békét kötött velünk a saját Fia halála árán. Mennyivel inkább megment bennünket Krisztus élete most, miután már békességben élünk Istennel.

11 Sőt, mi még több, örülünk és dicsekedünk is Istennel, Urunk, Jézus Krisztus által, aki békét teremtett köztünk és Isten között.

Ádám és Krisztus

12 A bűn egyetlen ember: Ádám által lépett be a világba. A bűn által pedig bejött a halál is, amely mindenkit elért. Mindenkinek meg kell halnia, mert mindenki vétkezett.

13 Bűn már a Mózesi Törvény előtt is volt a világban. De amíg nincs Törvény, addig a bűnt sem lehet senkinek felszámítani.

14 Ádámtól Mózesig mégis mindenki felett a halál uralkodott. Még azok felett is, akik nem úgy vétkeztek, ahogyan Ádám engedetlen volt Isten parancsának.
Ádám sokkal előbb élt, mint Krisztus, mégis hasonlított rá.

15 Isten ajándéka, a kegyelem azonban másképpen működik, mint Ádám bűne! Igaz, Ádám bűne sok ember halálát okozta, de Isten kegyelme és ajándéka sokkal hatásosabb és bőségesebben árad ki sok-sok emberre. Ezt a kegyelem-áradást egy másik ember, Jézus Krisztus kegyelme tette lehetővé.

16 Ez a kegyelem-ajándék azonban nem olyan, mint Ádám bűnének következménye. Hiszen az ítélet már egyetlen bűnt is halállal büntetett. Ezzel szemben, a kegyelem ajándéka sok-sok bűn elkövetése után is elfogadhatóvá teszi a bűnösöket Isten számára.

17 Egyetlen ember bűne miatt a halál valóban uralomra jutott azon az egy személyen keresztül. De ha ez így van, mennyivel inkább uralkodnak az életben a másik ember, Jézus Krisztus által azok, akikre bőségesen árad Isten kegyelme. Ezek ajándékba kapták, hogy Isten elfogadhatónak tekinti őket.

18 Egy ember bűne az összes többi számára is ítéletet eredményezett. Ugyanígy, amit az a másik ember — Jézus Krisztus — Isten akarata szerint elvégzett, az mindenki számára lehetővé tette, hogy Isten elfogadja őt, és örökké éljen.

19 Ahogyan egyetlen ember engedetlensége következtében sokan bűnössé lettek, úgy egyetlen ember engedelmessége által sokan elfogadhatóvá válnak Isten számára.

20 Isten adta a Törvényt, és ez csak tovább szaporította a bűnöket. De ahol elszaporodott a bűn, ott Isten még több kegyelmet ad.

21 Azért tette ezt Isten, hogy ahhoz hasonlóan, ahogy a bűn uralkodott a halál által, a kegyelem is uralkodjon azáltal, hogy Isten az embereket elfogadhatónak tekinti. Ez pedig az örök életre vezet, Urunk, Jézus Krisztus segítségével.

Romans 5

Results of Justification

1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.11 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned-13 for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a ttype of Him who was to come.

15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification.17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.19 For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.20 The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,21 so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
