1 เหตุฉะนั้นบัดนี้การปรับโทษจึงไม่มีแก่คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ในพระเยซูคริสต์ ผู้ไม่ดำเนินตามฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ2 เพราะว่ากฎของพระวิญญาณแห่งชีวิตในพระเยซูคริสต์ ได้ทำให้ข้าพเจ้าพ้นจากกฎแห่งบาปและความตาย3 เพราะสิ่งซึ่งพระราชบัญญัติทำไม่ได้เพราะเนื้อหนังทำให้อ่อนกำลังไปนั้น พระเจ้าทรงใช้พระบุตรของพระองค์มาในสภาพเสมือนเนื้อหนังที่บาปและเพื่อไถ่บาป พระองค์จึงได้ทรงปรับโทษบาปที่อยู่ในเนื้อหนัง4 เพื่อความชอบธรรมของพระราชบัญญัติจะได้สำเร็จในพวกเรา ผู้ไม่ดำเนินตามฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ5 เพราะว่า คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนังก็ปักใจในสิ่งของต่างๆซึ่งเป็นของเนื้อหนัง แต่คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณก็ปักใจในสิ่งของต่างๆซึ่งเป็นของพระวิญญาณ6 ด้วยว่าซึ่งปักใจอยู่กับเนื้อหนังก็คือความตาย และซึ่งปักใจอยู่กับพระวิญญาณก็คือชีวิตและสันติสุข7 เหตุว่าใจซึ่งปักอยู่กับเนื้อหนังนั้นก็เป็นศัตรูต่อพระเจ้า เพราะหาได้อยู่ใต้บังคับพระราชบัญญัติของพระเจ้าไม่ และที่จริงจะอยู่ใต้บังคับพระราชบัญญัตินั้นไม่ได้8 เพราะฉะนั้นคนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนังจะเป็นที่ชอบพระทัยพระเจ้าก็หามิได้9 ถ้าพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าทรงสถิตอยู่ในท่านทั้งหลายจริงๆแล้ว ท่านก็มิได้อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง แต่อยู่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ แต่ถ้าผู้ใดไม่มีพระวิญญาณของพระคริสต์ ผู้นั้นก็ไม่เป็นของพระองค์10 และถ้าพระคริสต์อยู่ในท่านทั้งหลายแล้ว ร่างกายก็ตายไปเพราะบาป แต่จิตวิญญาณก็มีชีวิตเพราะความชอบธรรม11 แต่ถ้าพระวิญญาณของพระองค์ ผู้ทรงชุบให้พระเยซูเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายทรงสถิตอยู่ในท่านทั้งหลาย พระองค์ผู้ทรงชุบให้พระคริสต์เป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายแล้วนั้น จะทรงกระทำให้กายซึ่งต้องตายของท่าน เป็นขึ้นมาใหม่ด้วย โดยพระวิญญาณของพระองค์ซึ่งทรงสถิตอยู่ในท่านทั้งหลาย12 ท่านพี่น้องทั้งหลาย เหตุฉะนั้นเราทั้งหลายเป็นหนี้ แต่มิใช่เป็นหนี้ฝ่ายเนื้อหนังที่จะดำเนินชีวิตตามเนื้อหนัง13 เพราะว่าถ้าท่านทั้งหลายดำเนินชีวิตตามฝ่ายเนื้อหนังแล้ว ท่านจะต้องตาย แต่ถ้าโดยฝ่ายพระวิญญาณท่านได้ทำลายการของฝ่ายกายเสีย ท่านก็จะดำรงชีวิตได้14 ด้วยว่าพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าได้ทรงนำพาคนหนึ่งคนใด คนเหล่านั้นก็เป็นบุตรของพระเจ้า15 เหตุว่าท่านไม่ได้รับนิสัยอย่างทาสซึ่งทำให้ตกในความกลัวอีก แต่ท่านได้รับพระวิญญาณผู้ทรงให้เป็นบุตรซึ่งให้เราทั้งหลายร้องเรียกพระเจ้าว่า "อับบา" คือพระบิดา16 พระวิญญาณนั้นเป็นพยานร่วมกับจิตวิญญาณของเราทั้งหลายว่า เราทั้งหลายเป็นบุตรของพระเจ้า17 และถ้าเราทั้งหลายเป็นบุตรแล้ว เราก็เป็นผู้รับมรดกคือเป็นผู้รับมรดกของพระเจ้า และเป็นผู้รับมรดกร่วมกับพระคริสต์ เมื่อเราทั้งหลายทนทุกข์ทรมานด้วยกันกับพระองค์นั้น ก็เพื่อเราทั้งหลายจะได้สง่าราศีด้วยกันกับพระองค์ด้วย18 เพราะข้าพเจ้าเห็นว่า ความทุกข์ลำบากแห่งสมัยปัจจุบันนี้ ไม่สมควรที่จะเอาไปเปรียบกับสง่าราศีซึ่งจะเผยในเราทั้งหลาย19 ด้วยว่าสรรพสิ่งที่ทรงสร้างแล้ว มีความเพียรคอยท่าปรารถนาให้บุตรทั้งหลายของพระเจ้าปรากฏ20 เพราะว่าสรรพสิ่งเหล่านั้นต้องเข้าอยู่ในอำนาจของอนิจจัง ไม่ใช่ตามใจชอบของตนเอง แต่เป็นไปตามพระองค์ผู้ทรงบันดาลให้เข้าอยู่นั้นด้วยมีความหวังใจ21 ว่าสรรพสิ่งเหล่านั้นจะได้รอดจากอำนาจแห่งความเปื่อยเน่า และจะเข้าในเสรีภาพซึ่งมีสง่าราศีแห่งบุตรทั้งหลายของพระเจ้าด้วย22 เรารู้อยู่ว่า บรรดาสรรพสิ่งที่ทรงสร้างนั้น กำลังคร่ำครวญและผจญความทุกข์ลำบากเจ็บปวดด้วยกันมาจนทุกวันนี้23 และไม่ใช่สรรพสิ่งทั้งปวงเท่านั้น แต่เราทั้งหลายเองด้วย ผู้ได้รับผลแรกของพระวิญญาณ ตัวเราเองก็ยังคร่ำครวญคอยจะเป็นอย่างบุตร คือที่จะทรงไถ่กายของเราทั้งหลายไว้24 เหตุว่าเราทั้งหลายรอดได้เพราะความหวังใจ แต่ความหวังใจในสิ่งที่เราเห็นได้หาได้เป็นความหวังใจไม่ ด้วยว่าใครเล่าจะยังหวังในสิ่งที่เขาเห็น25 แต่ถ้าเราทั้งหลายคอยหวังใจในสิ่งที่เรายังไม่ได้เห็น เราจึงมีความเพียรคอยสิ่งนั้น26 พระวิญญาณก็ทรงช่วยเราเมื่อเราอ่อนกำลังด้วยเช่นกัน เพราะเราไม่รู้ว่าเราควรจะอธิษฐานขอสิ่งใดอย่างไร แต่พระวิญญาณเองทรงช่วยขอเพื่อเราด้วยความคร่ำครวญซึ่งเหลือที่จะพูดได้27 และพระองค์ ผู้ทรงตรวจค้นใจมนุษย์ ก็ทรงทราบความหมายของพระวิญญาณ เพราะว่าพระองค์ทรงอธิษฐานขอเพื่อวิสุทธิชนตามที่ชอบพระทัยพระเจ้า28 เรารู้ว่า พระเจ้าทรงร่วมมือกับคนทั้งหลายที่รักพระองค์ให้เกิดผลอันดีในทุกสิ่ง คือคนทั้งปวงที่พระองค์ได้ทรงเรียกตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์29 เพราะว่าผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดที่พระองค์ได้ทรงทราบอยู่แล้ว ผู้นั้นพระองค์ได้ทรงตั้งไว้ให้เป็นตามลักษณะพระฉายแห่งพระบุตรของพระองค์ เพื่อพระบุตรนั้นจะได้เป็นบุตรหัวปีท่ามกลางพวกพี่น้องเป็นอันมาก30 ยิ่งกว่านั้นบรรดาผู้ที่พระองค์ได้ทรงตั้งไว้นั้น พระองค์ได้ทรงเรียกมาด้วย และผู้ที่พระองค์ได้ทรงเรียกมานั้น พระองค์ได้ทรงโปรดให้เป็นผู้ชอบธรรม และผู้ที่พระองค์ทรงโปรดให้เป็นผู้ชอบธรรม พระองค์ก็ทรงโปรดให้มีสง่าราศีด้วย31 ถ้าเช่นนั้นเราจะว่าอย่างไร ถ้าพระเจ้าทรงอยู่ฝ่ายเรา ใครจะขัดขวางเรา32 พระองค์ผู้มิได้ทรงหวงพระบุตรของพระองค์เอง แต่ได้ทรงโปรดประทานพระบุตรนั้นเพื่อเราทั้งหลาย ถ้าเช่นนั้นพระองค์จะไม่ทรงโปรดประทานสิ่งสารพัดให้เราทั้งหลาย ด้วยกันกับพระบุตรนั้นหรือ33 ใครจะฟ้องคนเหล่านั้นที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงเลือกไว้ พระเจ้าทรงเป็นผู้ที่ทำให้เราเป็นคนชอบธรรมแล้ว34 ใครเล่าจะเป็นผู้ปรับโทษอีก ก็คือพระคริสต์ผู้ทรงสิ้นพระชนม์แล้ว และยิ่งกว่านั้นอีกได้ทรงคืนพระชนม์ ทรงสถิต ณ เบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้า และทรงอธิษฐานขอเพื่อเราทั้งหลายด้วย35 แล้วใครจะให้เราทั้งหลายขาดจากความรักของพระคริสต์ได้เล่า จะเป็นความยากลำบาก หรือความทุกข์ หรือการข่มเหง หรือการกันดารอาหาร หรือการเปลือยกาย หรือการถูกโพยภัย หรือการถูกคมดาบหรือ36 ตามที่เขียนไว้แล้วว่า `เพราะเห็นแก่พระองค์ ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายจึงถูกประหารวันยังค่ำ และนับว่าเป็นเหมือนแกะสำหรับจะเอาไปฆ่า'37 แต่ว่าในเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงเหล่านี้ เรามีชัยยิ่งกว่าผู้พิชิตโดยพระองค์ผู้ได้ทรงรักเราทั้งหลาย38 เพราะข้าพเจ้าเชื่อมั่นว่า แม้ความตาย หรือชีวิต หรือทูตสวรรค์ หรือผู้มีบรรดาศักดิ์ หรือฤทธิ์เดชทั้งหลาย หรือสิ่งซึ่งมีอยู่ในปัจจุบันนี้ หรือสิ่งซึ่งจะมีในภายหน้า39 หรือซึ่งสูง หรือซึ่งลึก หรือสิ่งอื่นใดๆที่ได้ทรงสร้างแล้วนั้น จะไม่สามารถกระทำให้เราทั้งหลายขาดจากความรักของพระเจ้า ซึ่งมีอยู่ในพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเราได้
Romans 8
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.5 For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.6 For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:7 because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be:8 and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.9 But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you.12 So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:13 for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.15 For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.16 The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God:17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward.19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God.20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, in hope21 that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.23 And not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for our adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.24 For in hope were we saved: but hope that is seen is not hope: for who hopeth for that which he seeth?25 But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.26 And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered;27 and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.28 And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:30 and whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?33 Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth;34 who is he that condemneth? It is Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?36 Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
