طِطُس 1
تمہید
1 پَولُس کی طرف سے جو خُدا کا بندہ اور یِسُو ع مسِیح کا رسُول ہے ۔
خُدا کے برگُزِیدوں کے اِیمان اور اُس حق کی پہچان کے مُطابِق جو دِین داری کے مُوافِق ہے۔ 2 اُس ہمیشہ کی زِندگی کی اُمّید پر جِس کا وعدہ ازل سے خُدا نے کِیا ہے جو جُھوٹ نہیں بول سکتا۔
3 اور اُس نے مُناسِب وقتوں پر اپنے کلام کو اُس پَیغام میں ظاہِرکِیا جو ہمارے مُنجّی خُدا کے حُکم کے مُطابِق میرے سپُرد ہُؤا۔
4 اِیمان کی شِرکت کے رُو سے سچّے فرزند طِطُس کے نام ۔
فضل اور اِطمِینان خُدا باپ اور ہمارے مُنجّی مسِیح یِسُو ع کی طرف سے تُجھے حاصِل ہوتا رہے۔کریتے میں طِطُس کا کام
5 مَیں نے تُجھے کریتے میں اِس لِئے چھوڑا تھا کہ تُو باقی ماندہ باتوں کو درُست کرے اور میرے حُکم کے مُطابِق شہر بہ شہر اَیسے بزُرگوں کو مُقرّر کرے۔ 6 جو بے اِلزام اور ایک ایک بِیوی کے شَوہر ہوں اور اُن کے بچّے اِیمان دار اور بدچلنی اور سرکشی کے اِلزام سے پاک ہوں۔ 7 کیونکہ نِگہبان کو خُدا کا مُختار ہونے کی وجہ سے بے اِلزام ہونا چاہئے نہ خُودرای ہو ۔ نہ غُصّہ ور ۔ نہ نشہ میں غُل مچانے والا ۔ نہ مار ِپیٹ کرنے والا اور نہ ناجائِز نفع کا لالچی۔ 8 بلکہ مُسافِر پرور ۔ خَیر دوست ۔ مُتّقی ۔ مُنصِف مِزاج ۔ پاک اور ضبط کرنے والا ہو۔
9 اور اِیمان کے کلام پر جو اِس تعلِیم کے مُوافِق ہے قائِم ہو تاکہ صحِیح تعلِیم کے ساتھ نصِیحت بھی کر سکے اور مُخالِفوں کو قائِل بھی کر سکے۔
10 کیونکہ بُہت سے لوگ سَرکش اور بیہُودہ گو اور دغاباز ہیں خاص کر مختُونوں میں سے۔ 11 اِن کا مُنہ بند کرنا چاہئے ۔ یہ لوگ ناجائِز نفع کی خاطِر نا شایستہ باتیں سِکھا کر گھر کے گھر تباہ کر دیتے ہیں۔ 12 اُن ہی میں سے ایک شخص نے کہا ہے جو خاص اُن کا نبی تھا کہ کُریتی ہمیشہ جُھوٹے ۔ مُوذی جانور ۔ احدی کھاؤ ُہوتے ہیں۔ 13 یہ گواہی سچ ہے ۔ پس اُنہیں سخت ملامت کِیا کر تاکہ اُن کا اِیمان درُست ہو جائے۔ 14 اور وہ یہُودِیوں کی کہانِیوں اور اُن آدمِیوں کے حُکموں پر توُّجہ نہ کریں جو حق سے گُمراہ ہوتے ہیں۔ 15 پاک لوگوں کے لِئے سب چِیزیں پاک ہیں مگر گُناہ آلُودہ اور بے اِیمان لوگوں کے لِئے کُچھ بھی پاک نہیں بلکہ اُن کی عقل اور دِل دونوں گُناہ آلُودہ ہیں۔ 16 وہ خُدا کی پہچان کا دعویٰ تو کرتے ہیں مگر اپنے کاموں سے اُس کا اِنکار کرتے ہیں کیونکہ وہ مکرُوہ اور نافرمان ہیں اور کِسی نیک کام کے قابِل نہیں۔
Titus 1
Salutation
1 Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,3 but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,
4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Qualifications of Elders
5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you,6 namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion.7 For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain,8 but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled,9 holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.
10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."13 This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith,14 not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.
