1 จาก เปาโล ทาส_ของ_พระเจ้า_และ_ศิษย์_เอก_ของ_พระ_เยซูคริสต์ หน้าที่_ของ_ผม_คือ_ช่วย_ส่งเสริม_ความ_เชื่อ_ของ_คน_ที่_พระเจ้า_ได้_เลือก_ไว้ และ_ช่วย_ให้_พวก_เขา_เข้า_ใจ_ความ_จริง_มาก_ขึ้น ความ_จริง_นี้_จะ_ทำ_ให้_พวก_เขา_ใช้_ชีวิต_ที่_ให้_เกียรติ_กับ_พระเจ้า

2 หน้าที่_ของ_ผม_นี้_ตั้ง_อยู่_บน_ความ_หวัง_ที่_ว่า เรา_จะ_มี_ชีวิต_กับ_พระเจ้า_ตลอด_ไป_ตาม_ที่_พระองค์_ได้_สัญญา_ไว้_ก่อน_ที่_โลก_นี้_จะ_เกิด_เสีย_อีก พระเจ้า_ไม่_เคย_โกหก

3 เมื่อ_ถึง_เวลา_ที่_พระเจ้า_ผู้ช่วย_ให้_รอด_ของ_เรา_ได้_กำหนด_ไว้ พระองค์_ก็_ได้_เปิดเผย_ถ้อย_คำ_ของ_พระองค์_ผ่าน_ทาง_การ_ประกาศ พระองค์_ได้_มอบ_ข่าว_ดี_นี้_กับ_ผม และ_สั่ง_ให้_ผม_เอา_ไป_ประกาศ

4 ผม_จึง_ได้_เขียน_จด_หมาย_นี้_มา_ให้_ทิตัส ลูก_แท้ๆ_ใน_ความ_เชื่อ_ที่_เรา_มี_ร่วม_กัน
ขอ_ให้_พระเจ้า_พระบิดา_และ_พระ_เยซูคริสต์_ผู้ช่วย_ให้_รอด_ของ_เรา ให้_ความ_เมตตา_กรุณา_และ_สันติสุข_กับ_คุณ

หน้าที่_ของ_ทิตัส_บน_เกาะ_ครีต

5 ที่_ผม_ได้_ทิ้ง_คุณ_ไว้_ที่_เกาะ_ครีต ก็_เพื่อ_คุณ_จะ_ได้_สะสาง_งาน_ที่_ยัง_ค้าง_อยู่_ให้_เสร็จ และ_ให้_แต่ง_ตั้ง_ผู้นำ_อาวุโส_ตาม_เมือง_ต่างๆ_ตาม_ที่_ผม_ได้_สั่ง_กำชับ_ไว้_แล้ว

6 ผู้นำ_อาวุโส_นั้น จะ_ต้อง_ไม่_มี_ข้อเสื่อม_เสีย มี_เมีย_เพียง_คน_เดียว มี_ลูกๆ_ที่_มี_ความ_เชื่อ และ_ต้อง_ไม่_ได้_ชื่อ_ว่า_เป็น_เด็ก_เสเพล_และ_ไม่_เชื่อ_ฟังพ่อ_แม่

7 เนื่อง_จาก_ผู้_ดูแล_นี้ จะ_ต้อง_รับผิดชอบ_ครอบ_ครัว_ของ_พระเจ้า เขา_จะ_ต้อง_ไม่_มี_อะไร_เสื่อม_เสีย_ใน_ชีวิต ไม่_ทำ_ตัว_เป็น_เผด็จการ ไม่_ขี้_โมโห ไม่_ขี้_เหล้า ไม่_ชอบ_ต่อย_ตี ไม่_ขี้_โกง

8 แต่_เขา_จะ_ต้อง_ชอบ_รับแขก_แปลก_หน้า รัก_ความ_ดี สุขุม_รอบคอบ ยุติธรรม บริสุทธิ์ และ_ต้อง_รู้จัก_ควบ_คุม_ตน_เอง

9 เขา_จะ_ต้อง_มี_ความ_เชื่อ_ที่_มั่น_คง_ใน_คำ_สอน_ที่_เป็น_ประโยชน์_ที่_เรา_ได้_สอน_ไป_นั้น เพื่อ_จะ_ได้_เอา_คำ_สอน_นี้_ไป_ให้_กำลัง_ใจ_คน_อื่น และ_เอา_ไป_พิสูจน์_ให้_คน_ที่_ต่อ_ต้าน_คำ_สอน_นี้_เห็น_ว่า_พวก_ตน_ผิด

10 เรื่อง_นี้_สำคัญ เพราะ_มี_หลาย_คน_ที่_ดื้อ_ดึง_ไม่_ยอม_เชื่อ_ฟัง พูด_แต่_เรื่อง_ไร้_สาระ และ_ชัก_นำ_คน_อื่น_ให้_หลง_ผิด พวก_ที่_ผม_พูด_ถึง_นี้_ส่วน_ใหญ่_จะ_เป็น_พวก_ยิว_ที่_มา_เชื่อ_ใน_พระ_เยซู

11 จะ_ต้อง_ทำ_ให้_คน_พวก_นี้_หยุด_พูด_ให้_ได้ เพราะ_คน_พวก_นี้_โลภ เห็นแก่_เงิน จึง_สอน_ใน_สิ่ง_ที่_ไม่_ควร_สอน เลย_ทำ_ให้_หลาย_ครัว_เรือน_ต้อง_ถูก_ทำลาย_ไป

12 ขนาด_ผู้_พยากรณ์_คน_หนึ่ง_ของ_เขา_เอง_ยัง_พูด_เลย_ว่า
“ชาว_เกาะ_ครีต พูด_โกหก_เสมอ
เป็น_เหมือน_สัตว์_ป่า_ที่_ดุ_ร้าย เป็น_คน_ขี้เกียจ_และ_ตะกละ_ตะกลาม”

13 แล้ว_เขา_ก็_เป็น_อย่าง_ที่_พูด_นั้น_จริงๆ คุณ_ต้อง_ต่อว่า_พวก_นี้_ให้_เจ็บๆ เพื่อ_เขา_จะ_ได้_เจริญ_ขึ้น_ใน_ความ_เชื่อ

14 จะ_ได้_ไม่_ไป_สนใจ_นิยาย_ปรัมปรา_เหลว_ไหล_ของ_ยิว และ_กฎ_ต่างๆ_ของ_คน_ที่_หัน_หน้า_หนี_จาก_ความ_จริง

15 สำหรับ_คน_ที่_บริสุทธิ์ อะไรๆ_ก็_บริสุทธิ์_ไป_หมด ส่วน_คน_ที่_สกปรก_และ_ไม่_เชื่อ ก็_ไม่_มี_อะไร_บริสุทธิ์_เลย เพราะ_ความ_คิด_และ_ใจ_ที่_ฟ้อง_ถูก_ผิด_ของ_เขา_สกปรก_ไป_หมด_แล้ว

16 พวก_นี้_อ้าง_ว่า_รู้จัก_พระเจ้า แต่_การ_กระทำ_นั้น_ตรง_กัน_ข้าม พวก_นี้_น่า_รังเกียจ ไม่_เชื่อ_ฟัง และ_ไม่_เหมาะ_ที่_จะ_ทำ_ความ_ดี_อะไร_เลย

Titus 1

Salutation

1 Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,3 but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

Qualifications of Elders

5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you,6  namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion.7 For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain,8 but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled,9 holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."13 This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith,14 not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.
