EPISTOLA DI S. PAOLO A TITO 2
Delle esortazioni da farsi ai vecchi, alle donne, ai giovani, ai servi. Tito sia in esempio a tutti
1 MA tu, proponi le cose convenienti alla sana dottrina.
2 Che i vecchi sieno sobri, gravi, temperati, sani nella fede, nella carità, nella sofferenza.
3 Parimente, che le donne attempate abbiano un portamento convenevole a santitàt; non sieno calunniatrici, non serve di molto vino, ma maestre d'onestà. 4 Acciocchè ammaestrino le giovani ad esser modeste, ad amare i lor mariti, ed i loro figliuolit;
5 ad esser temperate, caste, a guardar la casa, ad esser buone, soggette a'~propri maritit; acciocchè la parola di Dio non sia bestemmiata.
6 Esorta simigliantemente i giovani che sieno temperati, 7 recando te stesso in ogni cosa per esempio di buone operet; mostrando nella dottrina integrità incorrotta, gravità, parlar sano, irreprensibile:
8 acciocchè l'avversario sia confuso, non avendo nulla di male da dir di voit.
9 Che i servi sieno soggetti a'~propri signorit, compiacevoli in ogni cosa, non contradicenti;
10 che non usino frode, ma mostrino ogni buona lealtà; acciocchè in ogni cosa onorino la dottrina di Dio, Salvator nostrot.La grazia salutare manifestata a tutti, e ciò che essa insegna
11 PERCIOCCHÈ la grazia salutare di Diot è apparita a tutti gli uominit; 12 ammaestrandoci che, rinunziando all'empietà, e alla mondane concupiscenzet, viviamo nel presente secolo temperatamente, e giustamente, e piamente; 13 aspettando la beata speranza, e l'apparizione della gloria del grande Iddio, e Salvator nostro, Gesù Cristot.
14 Il quale ha dato sè stesso per noit, acciocchè ci riscattasse d'ogni iniquità, e ci purificasset per essergli un popolo acquistato in propriot, zelante di buone operet.
15 Proponi queste cose, ed esorta, e riprendi con ogni autorità di comandaret. Niuno ti sprezzit.
Titus 2
Conduct Consistent with Sound Teaching
1 But as for you, communicate the behavior that goes witht sound teaching.2 Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled,t sound in faith, in love, and in endurance.s3 Older women likewise are to exhibit behavior fitting for those who are holy, not slandering, not slaves to excessive drinking, but teaching what is good.4 In this wayt they will traint the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children,5 to be self-controlled,t pure, fulfilling their duties at home,t kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the messaget of God may not be discredited.t6 Encourage younger men likewise to be self-controlled,t7 showing yourself to be an example of good works in every way. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,8 and a sound message that cannot be criticized, so that any opponent will be at a loss,t because he has nothing evil to say about us.9 Slavest are to be subject to their own masters in everything,t to do what is wanted and not talk back,
10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith,t in order to bring credit tot the teaching of God our Savior in everything.
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.t12 It trains ust to reject godless wayst and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,13 as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearingt of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.t14 Het gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his,t who are eager to do good.t
15 So communicate these things with the sort of exhortation or rebuket that carries full authority.t Don’t let anyone look downt on you.
