디도서 2

교리에 맞는 말

1 그대는 건전한 교훈에 맞는 말을 하십시오. 2 나이 많은 남자들은, 절제 있고, 위엄 있고, 신중하고, 믿음과 사랑과 인내심이 흔들리지 않는 사람이 되게 하십시오. 3 이와 같이 나이 많은 여자들도, 행실이 거룩하고, 헐뜯지 아니하고, 과도한 술의 노예가 아니고, 좋은 것을 가르치는 사람이 되게 하십시오. 4 그리하여 그들이 젊은 여자들을 훈련시켜서, 남편과 자녀를 사랑하고, 5 신중하고, 순결하고, 집안 살림을 잘하고, 어질고, 남편에게 순종하는 사람이 되게 해야 할 것입니다. 그래야 하나님의 말씀이 비방을 받지 않을 것입니다. 6 이와 같이 그대는 젊은 남자들을 권하여 신중한 사람이 되게 하십시오. 7 그대는 모든 일에 선한 행실의 모범이 되십시오. 가르치는 일에 순수하고 위엄 있는 태도를 보여야 합니다. 8 책잡힐 데가 없는 건전한 말을 하십시오. 그리하면 반대자도 우리를 걸어서 나쁘게 말할 것이 없으므로 부끄러움을 당할 것입니다. 9 종들을 가르치되, 모든 일에 주인에게 복종하고, 그들을 기쁘게 하고, 말대꾸를 하지 말고, 10 훔쳐내지 말고, 온전히 신실하라고 하십시오. 그러면 그들이 모든 일에서 우리의 구주이신 하나님의 교훈을 빛낼 것입니다. 11  t모든 사람에게 하나님의 구원의 은혜가 나타났습니다. 12 그 은혜는 우리를 교육하여, 경건하지 않음과 속된 정욕을 버리고, 지금 이 세상에서 신중하고 의롭고 경건하게 살게 합니다. 13 그래서 우리는 복된 t소망 곧 위대하신 하나님과 우리 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광이 나타나기를 고대합니다. 14 그리스도께서는 우리를 위하여 자기 몸을 내주셨습니다. 그것은 우리를 모든 불법에서 건져내시고, 깨끗하게 하셔서, 선한 일에 열심을 내는 백성으로 삼으시려는 것입니다. 15 그대는 권위를 가지고 이것들을 말하고, 사람들을 권하고 책망하십시오. 아무도 그대를 업신여기지 못하게 하십시오.

TITUS 2

Instructions for Different Groups //of People

1 Titus, you must teach only what is correct.

2 Tell the older men to have self-control and to be serious and sensible. Their faith, love, and patience must never fail.
3 Tell the older women to behave as those who love the Lord should. They must not gossip about others or be slaves of wine. They must teach what is proper, 4 so the younger women will be loving wives and mothers.

5 Each of the younger women must be sensible and kind, as well as a good homemaker, who puts her own husband first. Then no one can say insulting things about God's message.

6 Tell the young men to have self-control in everything.
7 Always set a good example for others. Be sincere and serious when you teach.

8 Use clean language that no one can criticize. Do this, and your enemies will be too ashamed to say anything against you.
9 Tell slaves always to please their owners by obeying them in everything. Slaves must not talk back to their owners

10 or steal from them. They must be completely honest and trustworthy. Then everyone will show great respect for what is taught about God our Savior.

God's Kindness and //the New Life

14 t He gave himself to rescue us from everything evil and to make our hearts pure. He wanted us to be his own people and to be eager to do right.
15 Teach these things, as you use your full authority to encourage and correct people. Make sure you earn everyone's respect.
