ทิตัส 2

1 ท่านต้องสอนสิ่งที่สอดคล้องกับคำสอนอันมีหลัก

2 พึงสอนชายผู้สูงอายุให้เป็นผู้รู้จักประมาณตน น่านับถือ ควบคุมตนเองได้ เข้มแข็งในความเชื่อ ในความรัก และในความอดทน
3 เช่นเดียวกันพึงสอนหญิงสูงอายุให้ดำเนินชีวิตด้วยความยำเกรง ไม่ใส่ร้ายป้ายสี หรือติดเหล้า แต่ให้สอนสิ่งที่ดีงาม4 แล้วนางจะสามารถฝึกฝนบรรดาหญิงสาวให้รักสามีและลูกๆ ของตน

5 ให้เป็นผู้ควบคุมตนเองได้และเป็นผู้บริสุทธิ์ ให้เอาใจใส่ดูแลบ้านเรือน ให้มีเมตตาและให้ยอมเชื่อฟังสามีของตน เพื่อจะไม่มีใครว่าร้ายพระวจนะของพระเจ้าได้
6 ในทำนองเดียวกันพึงให้กำลังใจบรรดาชายหนุ่มให้รู้จักควบคุมตนเอง7 ท่านจงประพฤติตนเป็นแบบอย่างในทุกด้านโดยการทำสิ่งที่ดี ในการสอนของท่านจงสำแดงความซื่อตรง ความเอาจริงเอาจัง

8 และถ้อยคำอันมีหลักซึ่งไม่มีใครตำหนิได้ เพื่อผู้ที่ต่อต้านท่านจะได้ละอายใจเพราะไม่มีข้อไหนจะติว่าเราได้
9 จงสอนพวกทาสให้เชื่อฟังนายของตนทุกสิ่ง พยายามทำให้นายพอใจ ไม่โต้เถียง

10 และไม่ยักยอก แต่แสดงให้เห็นว่าเขาเป็นคนที่ไว้ใจได้เต็มที่ เพื่อว่าเขาจะทำให้คำสอนเรื่องพระเจ้าองค์พระผู้ช่วยให้รอดของเรานั้นน่าเลื่อมใสในทุกๆ ทาง
11 เพราะพระคุณของพระเจ้าซึ่งนำความรอดมานั้นได้ปรากฏแก่คนทั้งปวง12 สิ่งนี้สอนให้เราปฏิเสธความอธรรมและโลกียตัณหา และสอนเราให้ดำเนินชีวิตในยุคนี้อย่างคนที่รู้จักควบคุมตนเอง เป็นคนยุติธรรมและอยู่ในทางพระเจ้า13 ขณะที่เรารอคอยความหวังอันเปี่ยมด้วยพระพร คือการปรากฏพระองค์อย่างทรงพระเกียรติสิริของพระเจ้าองค์พระผู้ช่วยให้รอดผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ของเราคือพระเยซูคริสต์

14 ผู้ประทานพระองค์เองแก่เราเพื่อไถ่เราให้พ้นจากความชั่วทั้งปวง และเพื่อชำระเราให้บริสุทธิ์ไว้สำหรับพระองค์ เป็นประชากรของพระองค์เพียงผู้เดียว เป็นผู้กระตือรือร้นที่จะทำสิ่งดี

15 ฉะนั้นท่านควรสอนเรื่องเหล่านี้ จงให้กำลังใจและตักเตือนด้วยสิทธิอำนาจทั้งปวง อย่าให้ใครดูแคลนท่านได้
กระทำสิ่งที่ดี

Titus 2

1 But speak thou the things which befit the sound doctrine:2 that aged men be temperate, grave, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience:3 that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;4 that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,5 to be sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed:6 the younger men likewise exhort to be sober-minded:7 in all things showing thyself an ensample of good works; in thy doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity,8 sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us.9 Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing to them in all things; not gainsaying;10 not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.11 For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men,12 instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world;13 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.15 These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
