Zacarías 4

El candelabro de oro y los dos olivos

1 Entonces el ángel que hablaba conmigo volvió y me despertó, como a quien se despierta de su sueño. 2 Y me preguntó: «¿Qué es lo que ves?» Yo le respondí: «Veo un candelabro de oro macizo, con un recipiente en la parte superior. Encima del candelabro hay siete lámparas, con siete tubos para las mismas. 3 Hay también junto a él dos olivos, uno a la derecha del recipiente, y el otro a la izquierda.»
4 Le pregunté entonces al ángel que hablaba conmigo: «¿Qué significa todo esto, mi señor?» 5 Y el ángel me respondió: «¿Acaso no sabes lo que significa?»
Tuve que admitir que no lo sabía. 6 Así que el ángel me dijo: «Ésta es la palabra del Señor para Zorobabel:
» “No será por la fuerza ni por ningún poder, sino por mi Espíritu —dice el Señor *Todopoderoso—.
7 ¿Quién te crees tú, gigantesca montaña?
¡Ante Zorobabel sólo eres una llanura! Y él sacará la piedra principal entre gritos de alabanza a su belleza.” » 8 Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor:
9 «Zorobabel ha puesto los cimientos de este templo,
y él mismo terminará de construirlo. ¡Así sabrán que me ha enviado a ustedes el Señor Todopoderoso!
10 Cuando vean la plomada
en las manos de Zorobabel, se alegrarán los que menospreciaron los días de los modestos comienzos. ¡Éstos son los siete ojos del Señor,
que recorren toda la tierra!» 11 Entonces le pregunté al ángel: «¿Qué significan estos dos olivos a la derecha y a la izquierda del candelabro?» 12 Y también le pregunté: «¿Qué significan estas dos ramas de olivo junto a los dos tubos de oro, por los que fluye el aceite dorado?»
13 El ángel me respondió: «¿Acaso no sabes lo que significan?» Y yo tuve que admitir que no lo sabía. 14 Así que el ángel me explicó: «Éstos son los dos *ungidos que están al servicio del Señor de toda la tierra.»

ZECHARIAH 4

Fifth Vision: //A Lampstand and Olive Trees

1 The angel who explained the visions woke me from what seemed like sleep.

2 Then he asked, “What do you see?”
“A solid gold lampstand with an oil container above it,” I answered. “On the stand are seven lamps, each with seven flames. 3 t One olive tree is on the right side and another on the left of the oil container.

4 But, sir, what do these mean?”

5 Then he asked, “Don't you know?”
“No sir,” I replied.

6  t So the angel explained that it was the following message of the [Lord] to Zerubbabel:t
I am the [Lord] All-Powerful. So don't depend on your own power or strength, but on my Spirit.

7 Zerubbabel, that mountain in front of you will be leveled to the ground. Then you will bring out the temple's most important stone and shout, “God has been very kind.”t

8 The [Lord] spoke to me again and said:
9 Zerubbabel laid the foundation for the temple, and he will complete it. Then everyone will know that you were sent by me, the [Lord] All-Powerful.

10 t Those who have made fun of this day of small beginnings will celebrate when they see Zerubbabel holding this important stone.t
Those seven lamps represent my eyes—the eyes of the [Lord]—and they see everything on this earth.
11  t Then I asked the angel, “What about the olive trees on each side of the lampstand? What do they represent?

12 And what is the meaning of the two branches from which golden olive oilt flows through the two gold pipes?”

13 “Don't you know?” he asked.
“No sir, I don't,” was my answer.
14 Then he told me, “These branches are the two chosen leaderst who stand beside the Lord of all the earth.”
