Zacarías 8
Promesa de la restauración de Jerusalén
1 Recibí de Jehová de los ejércitos esta palabra:
2 «Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos:
Celé a Sión con gran celo,
y con gran ira la celé.
3 »Así dice Jehová:
»Yo he restaurado a Sión
y habitaré en medio de Jerusalén.
Jerusalén se llamará ciudad de la Verdad,
y el monte de Jehová de los ejércitos, monte de Santidad.
4 »Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos:
»Aún han de morar ancianos y ancianas
en las calles de Jerusalén,
cada cual con un bastón en la mano
por lo avanzado de su edad.
5 Y las calles de la ciudad estarán llenas
de muchachos y muchachas que jugarán en ellas.
6 »Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos:
»Si esto parece imposible
a los ojos del resto de este pueblo en aquellos días,
¿también será imposible para mí?,
dice Jehová de los ejércitos.
7 »Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos:
»Yo salvo a mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente
y de la tierra donde se pone el sol;
8 los traeré y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén.
Ellos serán mi pueblo,
y yo seré su Dios en verdad y en justicia.
9 »Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos:
»Cobrad ánimo, vosotros que oís en estos días
estas palabras de la boca de los profetas,
desde el día que se echó el cimiento a la casa de Jehová de los ejércitos,
para edificar el Templo.
10 Porque antes de estos días no ha habido paga de hombre ni paga de bestia,
ni hubo paz para el que salía ni para el que entraba, a causa del enemigo,
pues yo dejé que todos los hombres se enfrentaran unos con otros.
11 Mas ahora no haré con el resto de este pueblo
como en aquellos pasados días,
dice Jehová de los ejércitos.
12 Porque habrá simiente de paz:
la vid dará su fruto, la tierra, su producto, y los cielos, su rocío;
y haré que el resto de este pueblo posea todo esto.
13 Y así como fuisteis maldición entre las naciones,
casa de Judá y casa de Israel,
así os salvaré y seréis bendición.
¡No temáis! ¡Cobrad ánimo!
14 »Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Como pensé haceros mal cuando vuestros padres me provocaron a ira, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y no me arrepentí,15 así en cambio he pensado hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la casa de Judá en estos días. No temáis.16 Éstas son las cosas que habéis de hacer: Hablad verdad cada cual con su prójimo; juzgad según la verdad y lo conducente a la paz en vuestras puertas.
17 Ninguno de vosotros piense mal en su corazón contra su prójimo, ni améis el juramento falso, porque todas éstas son cosas que aborrezco, dice Jehová.»
18 Recibí esta palabra de Jehová de los ejércitos:
19 «Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Los ayunos del cuarto, el quinto, el séptimo, y el décimo mes, se convertirán para la casa de Judá en gozo y alegría, y en fiestas solemnes. Amad, pues, la verdad y la paz.
20 »Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos:
»Aún vendrán pueblos y habitantes de muchas ciudades.
21 Vendrán los habitantes de una ciudad a otra y dirán:
“¡Vamos a implorar el favor de Jehová
y a buscar a Jehová de los ejércitos!”
¡Yo también iré!
22 Y vendrán muchos pueblos y naciones poderosas
a buscar a Jehová de los ejércitos en Jerusalén
y a implorar el favor de Jehová.
23 »Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: En aquellos días acontecerá que diez hombres de las naciones de toda lengua tomarán del manto a un judío, y le dirán: “Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que Dios está con vosotros.”»
ZECHARIAH 8
The [Lord]'s Promises //to Zion
1 The [Lord] All-Powerful said to me:
2 I love Zion so much that her enemies make me angry.
3 I will return to Jerusalem and live there on Mount Zion. Then Jerusalem will be known as my faithful city, and Zion will be known as my holy mountain.
4 Very old people with walking sticks will once again sit around in Jerusalem, 5 while boys and girls play in the streets. 6 This may seem impossible for my people who are left, but it isn't impossible for me, the [Lord] All-Powerful. 7 I will save those who were taken to lands in the east and the west,
8 and I will bring them to live in Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their God, faithful to bring about justice.
9 I am the [Lord] All-Powerful! So don't give up. Think about the message my prophets spoke when the foundation of my temple was laid.
10 Before that time, neither people nor animals were rewarded for their work, and no one was safe anywhere, because I had turned them against each other.
11 My people, only a few of you are left, and I promise not to punish you as I did before. 12 Instead, I will make sure that your crops are planted in peace and your vineyards are fruitful, that your fields are fertile, and the dew falls from the sky.
13 People of Judah and Israel, you have been a curse to the nations, but I will save you and make you a blessing to them. So don't be afraid or lose courage.
14 When your ancestors made me angry, I decided to punish you with disasters, and I didn't hold back. 15 Now you no longer need to be afraid. I have decided to treat Jerusalem and Judah with kindness. 16 t But you must be truthful with each other, and in court you must give fair decisions that lead to peace.
17 Don't ever plan evil things against others or tell lies under oath. I, the [Lord], hate such things.A Time of Celebration
18 The [Lord] All-Powerful told me to say:
19 People of Judah, I, the [Lord], demand that whenever you go without food as a way of worshiping me, it should become a time of celebration. No matter if it's the fourth month, the fifth month, the seventh month, or the tenth month, you should have a joyful festival. So love truth and live at peace.
20 I tell you that people will come here from cities everywhere.
21 Those of one town will go to another and say, “We're going to ask the [Lord] All-Powerful to treat us with kindness. Come and join us.”
22 Many people from strong nations will come to Jerusalem to worship me and to ask me to treat them with kindness. 23 When this happens, ten people from nations with different languages will grab a Jew by his clothes and say, “Let us go with you. We've heard that God is on your side.” I, the [Lord] All-Powerful, have spoken!
