This makes me think on a sermon by Pastor Craig call "thirty days to live". Nehemiah is turning "good intensions into Godly Acts". As christians we often pray and pray and then sit around waiting for God to do the work. God works through us. If God is nagging at you to help starving people then feed the people, don't just sit around and pray. In Bruce Almighty it was put this way, "if you want to see a miracle, be a mircle". Nehemiah shows us the way, first he prays and then he gets off his knees and begins the work. Conviction of us all, the power of prayer is through the hands of the pray-er.
