Three Keys to Unlocking Scripture
We know, based off from 2 Timothy 3:15 that the Bible gives us faith and a reason to believe in Jesus. It also makes us wise for salvation, not just ours, but it also helps us to reach the lost. So many people don't know how to go about reading the Bible, and have a hard time trying to make it "Real" in their lives. But this passage (Matthew 7:7) gives us three great steps that will absolutely help us in studying the Bible.
1) Ask God to help you! (John 14:26)
If you don't have the Bible in your life, your prayer life is going to be really bad. However, without prayer, your Bible studies are going to be really bad.
2) Seek out and give it some effort. (2 Tim. 2:15)
Any worthy find requires effort. You simply must find time to read and study the Bible on a daily basis. You don't have to be smart, but you have to be willing to roll up your sleeves and dig in! Study the Bible a bit at a time. Sometimes you will get a lot out of it, and other times you won't. But that's ok!!!
3) Knock means to apply what you have learned!
To know is to stand at the door and make yourself available. You have to go down the side-walk, climb the steps, and walk up to the door.
"Knocking goes beyond the realm of thinking and into the realm of acting!"

God Bless you as you study God's word! God will bless us for listening to Him. (see James 1:25)
