Hell, real or not
I have had some conversations with a friend (in Lifechurch) who is questioning the doctrine of an eternal hell. In fact, he is embrassing the universalists view that hell is not forever and all will be saved, including demons, satan and the likes of Stalin, Hitler, Nero and others. None of us, and I'll say it again--NONE OF US, deserve heaven, we all deserve hell, fire, brimstone, judgment, wrath and God's anger BUT He was gracious to us and gave us His Son. God's love was demonstrated to us while we were STILL sinners in that Christ died for us. Jesus commands us here, fear God because He can and will throw you into hell, both body and soul. Fear God...why? Isn't He my Heavenly Father who loves me? Yes, but He is also a BIG GOD who can do whatever He pleases with any of us, He is Sovereign. The only reason we can call Him Father is because of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Wow! What a work that was, what a mighty work and yet not all will fear God and not all will humbly believe. Fear Him and being close to Him you are protected from His wrath, anger and judgment and if you get away from Him...oh my! Fear Him even more!
