Colossians Structural Diagram (NKJV)
Col. 1:3-8
We give thanks
to God
[and] Father
of our Lord
Jesus Christ
praying always
for you
since we heard
of your faith
in Christ Jesus
[and] of your love
for all the Saints
because of the hope
which is laid up for you
in heaven
of which you heard before
in the word of truth of the gospel
which has come to you
as it has also in all the world
[and] is bringing forth fruit
[as it is also] among you
since the day you heard
[and] knew the grace
of God
in truth
You also learned from Epaphras
our dear fellow servant
who is a faithful minister
of Christ on your behalf
who also declared
to us
your love
in Spirit.

Col. 1:9-14
[For this reason we also]
since the day we heard it
do not cease to pray for you
[and] to ask that you may be filled
with the knowledge
of His will
in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
that you may walk
worthy of the Lord
fully pleasing Him
being fruitful
in every good work
[and] increasing
in the knowledge
of God
strengthened with all might
according to His glorious power
for all patience and longsuffering with joy
giving thanks
to the Father
who has qualified us to be partakers
of the inheritance
of the saints
in light.
He has delivered us
from the power of darkness
[and] conveyed us
into the kingdom
of the Son of His love
in whom we have redemption
through His blood
the forgiveness of sins.

Col. 1:15-23
He is the image
of the invisible God
the firstborn
over all creation

[for] by Him
all things were created
that are in heaven and that are on earth
visible and invisible
whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers
all things were created
through Him
[and] for Him.

[And] He is before all things

[and] in Him
all things consist

He is the head
of the body
the church

Who is the beginning
the firstborn from the dead
that in all things He may have the preeminence

For it please the Father
that in Him all the fullness should dwell
[and] by Him
to reconcile all things
to Himself
by Him whether things on earth or things in heaven
having made peace
through the blood of His cross.

[And] you who once were alienated and enemies
in your mind
by doing wicked works

[yet] now He has reconciled in the body
of His flesh
through death
to present you
holy
[and] blameless
[and] above reproach
in His sight
if indeed you continue
in the faith
grounded and steadfast
[and] are not moved away from the hope
of the gospel
which you heard
which was preached
to every creature
under heaven
of which I Paul became a minister

Col. 1:24-2:6a
I now rejoice
in my sufferings
for you
[and] I fill up in my flesh what is lacking
in the afflictions of Christ
for the sake of His body
which is the church
of which I became a minister
according to the stewardship from God
which was given to me
for you
to fulfill the word of God

The mystery has been revealed
which has been hidden
from ages
[and] from generations
to His Saints
to them God willed
to make known
what are the riches of the flowery of this mystery
among the gentiles
which is Christ in you
the hope of glory.

Him we preach
warning everyman
[and] teaching everyman
in all wisdom
that we may present everyman
perfect in Christ Jesus.

[To this end]
I also labor
striving according to His working
which works in me mightily.

[For] I want you to know
what a great conflict
I have for you
[and] those in Laodicea
[and] for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh
that their hearts may be encouraged
being knit together in love
[and] attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding
to the knowledge
of the mystery of God

of the mystery of God
both of the Father and of Christ
In whom are hidden
all the treasures
of wisdom and knowledge.

Now this I say
lest anyone should deceive you
with persuasive words

For though I am absent
in flesh
I am with you
in the spirit
rejoicing
to see your good order
[and] the steadfastness of you faith
in Christ

[As] you therefore have received Christ Jesus

Col. 2:6b-27
So walk in Him
rooted and built up in Him
[and] established in the faith
as you have been taught
abounding in it
with thanksgiving.

Beware lest anyone cheat you
through philosophy and empty deceit
according to the tradition of men
according to the basic principles of the world
[and] not according to Christ.

For in Him dwells
all the fullness
of the Godhead bodily

[and] you are complete in Him
who is the head
of all principality and power.

In Him
you were also circumcised
with the circumcision
made without hands
by putting off
the body
of the sins
of the flesh
by the circumcision
of Christ
buried with Him
in baptism
in which you also were raised with Him
through faith
in the working of God
who raised Him
from the dead.

[And] you being
dead in your trespasses
[and] the un circumcision of you flesh

He has made alive
together with Him
having forgiven you all trespasses
having wiped out
the handwriting
of requirements that was against us
which was contrary to us.
[and] He has taken it
out of the way
having nailed it to the cross.

Having disarmed
principalities and powers
He made
a public spectacle
of them
triumphing over them in it.

So let no one judge you
in food
[or] in drink
[or] regarding a festival
[or] a new moon
[or] Sabbath
which are a shadow of things to come
but the substance is of Christ.

Let no one cheat you
of your reward
taking delight in false humility
[and] worship of angels
intruding into those things
which he has not seen
vainly puffed up
by his fleshly mind
[and] not holding fast to the Head
from whom all the body
nourished and knit together
by joints and ligaments
grows with the increase
that is from God.

Therefore if you died
with Christ
from the basic principles
of the world
why as though living in the world
do you subject yourselves
to regulations
Do not touch
Do not taste
Do not handle
which all concern things
which perish with the using
according to the commandments
to the commandments and doctrines
of men?

These things indeed have an appearance
of wisdom
in self-imposed religion
false humility
[and] neglect of the body
