It's almost disrespectful, the way the translation indicates that He talks to his mother. ESV isn't bad, but The Message says "Don't rush me". I suspect that He was much more appropriate, but when combined with his 12-year old "I must be about my Father's business", I just see some "disconnect" with his earthly parent.
