No hope
Verse one says "you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world..."
How often do we convince ourselves that just a little bit of sin is ok? The little things don't matter. But it says clearly right here that we were dead in our transgressions and sins. Not big sins. Just sins.
Except for the love of Christ, all sin will kill us.
