Brian Loritts at http://www.fellowshipradio.org/?m=200804 talks about the basics of our call as Christians; to disciple followers of Christ. Most of us are not trained to be disciples, nor do we seek to know more in order to disciple. Paul constantly called his companions to train. It took Paul 14 years of training to speak of the Gospels as he did. In our society, psychologists and preachers require years of training and experiencial insight. How can we answer our call when we don't pursue and train? We live in a huge world which constantly distracts us from our purpose. Brian Loritts suggests seeking a resource for training, but not to go too far from actually studying the Bible itself. He says that, when talking to someone about the Gospel, he never tries to "clone" that person to be like himself, rather he simply shares the basic elements of faith and trusts God for the rest. Then, Brian addresses the busy life of family and advises us to carefully focus our attention to the pouring of ourselves into others. Sacrificing our time to the cause of Christ...
