Matthew 14:31 ASV

One time I went to Colorado with Austin and Justin. We were there to mountain climb, plain and simple. We got up around 7:00am and set out to summit Snowmass Mountain. It was a bit harder and way scarier than I anticipated. Eventually it got really cold and it started to rain. Cold and wet are not a good combination for hypothermia. We got about 13,500 feet up of the 14,000 foot mountain and I had enough...I stopped...I was scared...I didn't want to die. Have you ever had an experience like that? You started something crazy, but your fear kept you from finishing the job? Peter did. Peter made the first move out of the boat, had a thrill, and started sinking because he got scared. He thought he was going to die. Why would Jesus put Peter in that situation? And then to say that Peter didn't have enough faith? Peter walked on water! I would say he got an A for effort at least? Nope...fear is fear no matter how you package it, and fear is a lack of trust in God. Life has many waves, winds, and deep waters, and if we choose fear rather than faith we will sink every time. What would your life look like if you KNEW that Jesus wouldn't let you sink and die? A few elements come to mind...peace...joy...patience. How about miracles? God wants us to experience that kind of life, a life of miracles, a life on the edge, a life...of faith.
