Philippians 3:8-11 ASV

This just speaks to me because sometimes we have to give things up for Christ, things that may mean a lot to us, or things that we hate. The reality of it is, addictions are awesome to give to god...and I was glad to do so, but my bad boi car was a different story. The best part of this scripture is anything of this world, means nothing compared to the greatness of knowing God. He is utterly and astonishly amazing. I love cars, but knowing Christ is so much better. We sacrifice somthing important to us, but in turn we get something so much greater. A closer relationship with the father. That car was trouble anyways haha. But really, he has a reason for everything that he has called us to do or give up. It killed me selling that car, but it was a blessing in turn. God had his hand on the whole situation, and he took me away from an idol that i had. A car that would cause me trouble, and surely help me lose my license. Lots of money, tickets, parts, time, and trouble. So there were a bunch of blessings in sacrificing my earthly junk. And I got to drive the car last night anyways!! But the Bottom line is that getting to know Christ is far more fulfilling than anything on this earth. Give it a whirl. Double dog dare you. What do you hold dear to you, that God might want you to give up?
