1 Peter 1:17-25 ASV

1 Peter 1:17-25

The Main idea I get from these verses is that my self-centered life was paid for with His sinless perfect one. Because of what He did, I can move beyond my temporary self-centered existence. I CAN live for the eternal, the things that really matter, the things that will last. I can follow His lead of sacrifricing myself, my ego. I can love my brothers and sisters with a SINCERE and INTENSE love. I don't have to hold back out of fear. I can be who He created me to be.

Sincere- free of deceit, hypocrisy, or falseness; earnest: a sincere apology,
genuine; real: a sincere effort to improve; a sincere friend, pure; unmixed; unadulterated.

Intense- Extreme in degree, strength, or size
Deeply felt; profound: intense emotion.
Tending to feel deeply: an intense writer.

Lord, everything in this life is going to fade away, so why do I continue to grasp for the temporary? Out of safety, a sense of security. But what I am learning more and more everyday is that you are not wanting me to be safe and secure, you want me to step out and trust You to take control. God, will you empower me take risks? To love others sincerely and intensely? It's so scary to put myself out there. But I know it's worth it. I know my time, energy, and resources belong with that which is eternal.

I love you, ABBA.
