The Oil of Joy
A characteristic of the Christian life that makes us different from the world is that we are anointed with the "oil of joy". Through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we can experience a joyful life on the earth. No matter the circumstances, nothing can take away our "internal joy". How do we assure ourselves that we have plenty of "joy oil" in our tank? By constantly working on our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Nurturing that relationship is the most important activity that we can be involved in. From a heart of joy will flow out all the tools necessary to carry out the mission that He has given us for our lives. Trying to carry out our mission without a full "joy" tank, will be a frustrating process. Do not let activity for God get in the way of your relationship with Him. It is in that relationship that we get our "joy oil"!
