John the baptist was Jesus cousin. Not only was he the cousin of Jesus he was also the one who paved the way for His coming. He preached loud and hard in the desert, telling people to prepare for Jesus coming.

He was a faithful servant of God.

And his life ended tragically. The king got drunk, watched a hot young thang belly dance, and then promised to give her whatever she wanted. The young girl was already told what to do by her mother, she wanted John's head on a platter.

And the king followed through with it.

John the Baptist had his head cut off because of the lust and drunkenness of an ungodly king. I wonder if he felt like God had abandoned him?

Why didn't Jesus save him?

These are questions I am going to ask, when I get to heaven. The bible does say, in another part, that Jesus was greatly troubled when He heard the news that His cousin had been executed.

It goes to show us, nothing in guaranteed in this life. Bad things still happen to good people and that is not God's fault. He had to go through the same difficulties in life that we are going through right now.
