Why is nearly every church geared around adults?

Why are the majority of church budgets spent on adult programming?

The men go to Promise Keepers while the kids get sent off to some lame summer camp.

The ladies go to a big city for a shopping trip and the youth have to have a bake sale in order to get a bonfire.

The adults get 90% of the space in the church and the youth get a tiny room in the basement.

Jesus said that we should all strive to be childlike. We should be loving, full of faith, honest with our feelings, authentic, and quick to believe.

I believe that is why the youth of today are seeing God move in their lives and the lives of their friends. They aren't pretending to be perfect, they are real with God, childlike.

So many adults miss this. They keep telling their teenagers to "just grow up" and Jesus is saying to all of us, "Just act childlike."

I thank God that I am a part of a church that honors young people. We don't disrespect them and treat them like they are a frustration to us. We love them. We love the fire they bring to our congregation, the passion and rawness. We thank God for the Youth in our Church.

Are you thanking God for young people or are you trying to force them to
"just grow up?"
