no one likes pain... I just want out to my front flower patch... and started to weed... and it was tedious, but I knew that pulling away those weeds would benefit the whole garden. but they weren't attached to the plant.

Pruning is cutting away from the "branch"... that hurts. But in perspective it is an amazing occurance. Such care and precision. You don't just cut away bad branches... you got to look at the way you want the plant to grow... and if it isn't growing the way you want you "redirect" it and it's brances to go the way you want!

for instance, "upwards"... you cut away the branches that are heading "laterally"... and everything is "refocused"!

God have your way in me. "you are the vine, I am a branch"! I trust your hand... I trust your plan. "hurt me the way you need to"

John 15:1-5
