It Matters
…I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until Christ returns.
MOST SAY “IT JUST DOESN’T MATTER”
• If it feels good, do it.
• I’m not hurting anyone.
• It’s my body; I can do what I want.
THE ONE SAYS “IT MATTERS”
1) PURITY MATTERS.
Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush.
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality...
2)INTIMACY MATTERS.
God wants you to be holy, so you should keep clear of all sexual sin. Then each of you will control your body and live in holiness and honor — not in lustful passion as the pagans do, in their ignorance of God and his ways.
Premarital Sex:
• You can’t have safe sex.
• You reduce a gift to an act.
• You are setting a pattern of compromise.
3) HOLINESS MATTERS.
It is God's will that you should…avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God…For God did not call us to be impure, but to
• I’m honoring my spouse.
• I’m building my life story.
…in view of God's mercy, offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship.
