Promises. Promises. Promises.
I've heard people say that the problem with temptation and with sin is that they don't deliver what they promise. I'd like to think of it differently... I think that temptation and sin delivers what it promises... good times, fun times, satisfaction, gratification... etc. Check out verses six and seven... Eve realized that if she ate the fruit, she could know everything. And in verse seven, it says that "she did see what was really going on." The problem with sin is not that it doesn't deliver... it delivers. The real problem with sin is that it delivers more than we bargained for... confusion, sadness, embarrasment, anger, bitterness, hatred, lovelessness, aloneness, anxiety... etc.
