Getting a Drink / John 4:1-43
i wish we could see people more than what is thought to be appropriate or inappropriate. I wish what we need wasn't all we were aware of. Maybe we have difficulty being aware of how valuable people are to God. If we really were aware, that reality would trump whatever social faux pax's we might make. Maybe we don't really think that our food is to do the work of our God or that we could live with a source of living water within us. We tend to focus on what the living water is or how we get it or what it's like to have it instead of living with the confidence it ought to provide that lets us notice others and let them in on experiences of life/encounters with Christ that would make their lives better forever. We tend to see what people think we shouldn't do and all or deficiencies and so miss that there is a white harvest and people would respond to the real deal. O we would still have to explain some. the woman didn't know exactly what Jesus was talking about. But she did respond to what he was like and what he offered her. If we will love people and offer them what God wants them to have even though we know all about them, they will respond to us to. Especially since Jesus is still at work in people through the Holy Spirit, drawing, teaching, encountering, offering. I wonder how fast the kingdom of God would advance if we did the same.
