2 Kings 6:17 ASV

In a bold [or arrogant] prayer, I asked the Lord to give me the ability to see angels as Elisha did. The great thing is the Lord always hears our prayers and answered mine in a quite unexpected fashion.

I was living in an apartment in Las Colinas, TX at the time. I had prayed several days ago and was on my bed waiting for the Lord to speak to me. As I glanced at my Bible I noticed emerging from my closet the largest spider I had seen not in captivity. [the link shows a great website about identifying spiders. mine was a LARGE wolf spider].

The spider paused at my closet threshold and seemed to be looking directly at me. I contemplated whether I should kill the spider and after much deliberation decided I was killing the spider out of wisdom and not fear. I crept closer to the calm spider with my sandal, about to strike. BAM! I missed. BAM! BAM! BAM! the spider retreated with amazing speed! and escaped to the safety underneath my dresser. As I sat crouched, wide-eyed, my heart racing and trying to control my breath when the Lord clearly answered my prayer. See how you feel now? Imagine if you could see fallen angels where they lurk.

I have not since asked the Lord to see angels. Thank you Lord for answering my prayer!
