In the first fifteen verses, Moses (Moshe in Hebrew) is named seven times, which is the text of Yahweh's commissioning of Israel for the profile. In essence, Yahweh is demonstrating to Joshua and to Israel that Moses was the servant who was faithful and that His faithfulness would abide with them even as it did with him. Just as Moses bore the Torah to the people, so must this people of Israel now bear Torah to the nations. The reiteration of Moses' name is not to the exaltation of his person, but to the glorification of Yahweh's purpose.
