John 8:6 ASV, John 8:15-16 ASV, John 8:29 ASV, John 8:36 ASV, John 8:42-43 ASV and John 8:59 ASV

Multiple times in this chapter the people try and put Jesus in a tight spot, accuse him of wrong, accuse him of being demon possessed and being a liar.

In his great patience, he listened and showed them love and answered their questions but in a very direct way. He placed their accusations back on them. Basically saying... "if you really knew who and what you said you do, then you'd see why you are wrong.... but since your heart is hard, your ears clogged and you are a slave to sin... you can't see"

Jesus shows compassion and forgiveness to the sinner and calls out and cast out the religious and self centered.

As I encounter people each day I pray for discernment to know if I need to extend forgiveness and mercy or call out and cast out.
