Our Life in Christ Offers it to others
Paul has written a most beautiful treatise and encouragement to the life Jesus would form in us. He prays for knowledge of God and commends for the faith and love that spring from hope. We are reminded by the great hymn of the character and wonder of who Jesus is. And so we seek to be made perfect in him by doing everything in His name, letting him work in and through us. We seek to draw our nourishment from him and learn to set our minds on things of God (heaven) and not just things of human nature. So we take off the things of the flesh and put them to death. And we put on, like clothes, kindness and compassion and forgiveness and patience. We learn to live so as to build one another up by submission and love. And what does it all lead to? The kind of life that is ready, motivate, and able to share that life with others by prayer and conversation in friendship.
We are devoted to prayer. That means we pray and we prioritize prayer and we attempt to change the world and make people's lives better first and foremost through prayer. We are aided in our devotion to prayer by watchfulness that is on the lookout for things that are needed, things God wants, what God is doing. We are also aided by thanksgiving, that reminds us God is on our side and able to save and restore and empower, just like he has done before.
Of course, when we pray, we will be led by God to pray for an open door for the message of Jesus. And his message was turn to God, the life with God (Kingdom of the heavens) is available to you. And when we pray, we are asking and submitting ourselves to God and His will. That means we are also willing to become the answer to the prayer if God would lead us. So we proclaim what God has in mind for people, the life available for them in God's great plan. and we look for opportunities and lead conversations to there is always a chance to talk about real things and answer questions so that the obstacles of faith can be removed for people and they can know the Lord and salvation and wholeness and the fruit of the Spirit in their own lives.
The result of a life spiritually formed in Christ is other people also being formed spiritually in Christ, by prayer and by conversations at every opportunity.
