There are several verses in scripture that discuss the concept of being one body, but these verses in Colossians beautifully describe what it means to be woven together... We are not to be "plugged-in" (like receptacles and power plugs drawing from numerous sources) but knit together as a single body. This whole concept together (Christ knit together with the Father, his image, false doctrines and artificial regulations, good conduct as members of the body) is well summarized in Colossians 2 - but it needs to be read as a whole thought: it starts out with a plea for the church to be "knit together in love..."! We are to be woven into a fabric - one body - not plugged into the best outlet.
