Am I Living As The Image of God?
Yesterday I was listening to my iPod at work as I usually do to help keep my sanity. Someone came in and asked what I was listening to. I replied that it was a podcast of a church in Texas. Later in the afternoon again he was back in our area and jokingly asked if I was getting saved, I replied that I was already there. He jokingly responded that I should start acting like it and stop being mean. I joked back and that was the end of it. I started thinking about the whole thing again last night. I know he was joking but felt convicted on if I was portraying Christ and living as the image of God in which I was created in. It is easy as believers to take things too far when everyone is joking around. NOT that we are to be uptight and prudish either, but we and I know I especially tend to let carelessness in what we say jokingly affect our speech. We are to represent Christ in all that we do. We are blessed to be created in His image, and we are the only species that was.
