God's Mercy
It's so easy for me to forget the level of mercy God has to have with me every day. God says that he keeps a "tight rein on his anger" when it comes to dealing with his people. Furthermore, God promises to not give up on us, or “wash his hands of us”, however he does state that he is not afraid to refine us with "fire" in order to purify our lives. When difficult situations arise in our lives one of the things we have to look at is that, is God trying to refine something out of my life? Is there a sin or a destructive pattern that I am in the thralls of that he is trying to refine with fire? Just like any good father God is interested in growing us into successful sons and daughters of character and integrity, and he is not afraid to put or feet to the fire when necessary to achieve that goal.
