Careful! Don't Trip
I remember one time when I needed to enter the place I worked through a different door and then move quickly to the front door to turn off the alarm before it notified the police that I someone had entered the building. I got in and started running. Only problem was it was dark...and there was furniture between me and where I needed to go. Lot's of furniture. A battle ensued and I knocked some of the chairs over and some of the furniture knocked me over. I couldn't stop to fix it, I needed to shut off the alarm. Before long, I blazed the trail and arrived, bruised and even bleeding at the alarm pad. It sure would have helped me avoid some pain and making a mess if the lights would have been on.
God's word is perhaps even more helpful than actual light. Knowing what God's word has to say can keep us from making poor or dangerous decisions and can guide us as well. Don't believe me? Read through a chapter of Proverbs everyday and see if it doesn't apply to something you encounter. Meditate on God's word and your choices and decisions will become more obvious as you see more clearly in the "light" of God's truth.
