Matthew 16:15-23 ASV

What I love about this passage of scripture is I can totally relate to Peter. One moment Christ is telling him that he is going to build his church with Peter and the twelve disciples as the foundational rocks, and the next minute Christ is calling him Satan, all in the same chapter. This is the Christian walk in a nut shell, we have victory or revelation in our lives that could of only happened because of God, and then the next moment we fall on our face and our father has to pick us up and scrape off our knees. The good news is that as we mature in our faith the bible says we are to go from faith to faith or victory to victory, so eventually, if we do not give up and stay obedient to God, as we grow through the mistakes and trials our miscues become less frequent and victory dominates our life.

Billy Graham was once asked how he did it, how did he get to the level that he did when so many others failed. His response was two words “I survived", he simply did not give up and eventually he achieved victory through Christ.
