Mark 3:1 ASV

Jesus went into the synagogue and met a man with a shriveled hand. People who wanted to accuse Jesus of something watched to see if He would heal the man (it was the Sabbath). He had the man stand in front of the people, and He asked them if it was lawful to do good or evil on the Sabbath, to save life or to kill. They did not answer, and Jesus was angry. He told the man to stretch out his hand. When he did, his hand was healed.
It says that then the Pharisees went out and began to plot how to kill Jesus.

Jesus took his disciples and went to the lake. It says that a large crowd followed from Galilee. Many other people came from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and other regions. There were so many people that wanted Jesus to heal them that the crowds were pushing towards Him. Jesus had His disciples get a boat ready for Him. As the evil spirits within people saw Him, the cried out, "You are the Son of God." But Jesus made them be quiet.

Jesus went on the mountainside and appointed His 12 apostles. He chose:
1. Simon Peter
2. James son of Zebedee
3. John brother of James
4. Andrew
5. Philip
6. Bartholomew
7. Matthew
8. Thomas
9. James son of Alphaeus
10. Thaddaeus
11. Simon the Zealot
12. Judas Iscariot
It says that he chose them that they might be with him and that he might SEND THEM OUT to preach. He also gave them authority to drive out demons.

Jesus and his disciples gathered, but a crowd followed and they were not even able to eat. The teacher of the law came and accused Him of being demon-possessed. Jesus responded by asking how Satan could drive out Satan. He said that If a kingdom is divided against itself, it cannot stand. He says that Satan would not oppose himself.
He says that all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven.
Jesus mother and brothers arrived because they had heard what was going on (verse 21) and they meant to take him home because they did not think he was acting rightly. When word was brought to Jesus that they were outside, he said that his mother and brothers were with him inside (referring to his disciples. He said "Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother." (Verse 35)
