1 Kings 18:1 ASV

Elijah went to Ahab and had him send a message out to all the prophets of Baal and of Asherah, telling them to meet him at Mount Carmel. At this time, all the prophets of the Lord were hidden because they were being killed. At the mount, Elijah had the prophets of Baal build an altar and prepare a sacrifice, but not light it. They called to Baal all day and night to light their fire, but nothing happened. Then Elijah built an altar to the Lord and prepared a sacrifice on it. He had water poured on the wood three times. Elijah prayed to the Lord, and He lit the fire, consuming even the stones of the altar. The people fell prostrate and believed in the Lord. All the prophets of Baal were seized and were killed. Then God brought rain, ending the drought and famine in the land.

1. Elijah challenges the false gods.
2. Elijah put all his faith in God
3. After things were righted, God brought rain.
