John 10:22-42 ASV

Why is it that someone always wants Jesus, or Christians to prove something? Maybe because we are all like that to some extent. We want things to be so obvious we don't have to accept it by faith. But we want to say, "prove it" even more when we are trying not to accept what is right in front of our eyes and we have heard and understood but don't want to have to give up any control to the truth of the way things are and who deserves our life.
There are all kinds of reasons to offer our whole lives to Jesus. And, by the way, that is exactly what we must do if we see that He is Messiah, Christ, Anointed One, Sent from God to bring the Kingdom and offer life and adoption and everything as it should be. What are the reasons? The work Jesus does to transform lives and heal bodies and restore relationships and give hope. The works testify. People who do listen are changed forever. Once a person has listened and followed, Jesus keeps them and guides them and protects them. He makes us His, and therefore the Father's at the same time. How would we or anyone need to ask him to prove it anymore. We don't, unless we are not intending to listen.
The real question is not about whether Jesus is who to follow. The real question is can we get better at hearing him and living in the life he offers? We shouldn't be hard hearted to those who are still struggling, Jesus continued to help them get it. But we also should be sure we aren't wasting our time when we should be living in His life instead of questioning.
